Gabriel stood before a fearsome adversary. Zeqel’s death had awakened his rage and desire to fight.
“And where did you come from? You look like an ordinary Portcanian, but there’s something different about you… Well, maybe you don’t know who I am, so before I kill you, I’ll tell you: my name is Samael, and I’m a general of Arcan.”
“I don’t care!” the young man replied with disdain.
“Grr! Kids these days have no respect. I’ll have to teach you some manners… I’ll kill you with a single blow!”
At that moment, while threatening him, Samael felt the boy’s aura begin to grow.
“What the—?!”
Samael tried to surprise him with a lightning-fast punch to the face, but Gabriel managed to stop the powerful strike with both hands, leaving the general completely stunned.
“How is it possible that someone like you could stop my blow?”
“And that’s not all I’m going to do!”
Taking advantage of Samael’s confusion, Gabriel struck him hard in the face, sending him flying and crushing his pride.
“You’ve dishonored the purpose you were given: to protect our world. You’ve trampled on peace and, above all, mercilessly killed a comrade. That’s why I swear I’ll defeat you...”
“So now a kid wants to be my conscience. I don’t know how you got those powers, but I’ll make you understand that raising your hand against me has consequences… I’ll cut you to pieces like I did with that worthless Zeqel. Die. Sword Scream!”
The same attack that had killed Zeqel and cut him into pieces now surged toward Gabriel at tremendous speed—one he couldn’t even see. But something stopped it.
“What is that?!” asked Samael, shocked. His attack had crashed against a powerful invisible wall that protected the boy.
“Incredible… The sword my master gave me has saved me. That attack was really fast—I couldn’t even see his arm move. If I hadn’t had this sword, maybe I…” Gabriel thought, both surprised and concerned.
“I know that sword… It’s one of the legendary weapons! How is it that you have it?”
“It was given to me to do justice, and it moved on its own to protect me. Otherwise, your attack would have shredded me.”
“So it’s true that those weapons have a consciousness of their own… and that they move by themselves. Very impressive, really. But don’t think you’ll defeat me with that alone.”
“Thank you, powerful sword, for saving me. Now… it’s my turn to attack.
FLASHES OF LIGHT!”
Gabriel’s surprise attack landed directly on the Arcanian, but even so, that would not be enough to win this battle that had only just begun…
In Arcan, the Patriarch and his companions took notice of the energy they could feel near Samael…
“I sense a strange energy next to Samael… Who could it be?”
“It’s true. I’ve never felt anything like it. I’m surprised someone this strong exists outside of Arcan,” added Artaqof.
The battle between the Arcanian and the boy continued. The Watcher’s speed was greater than Gabriel’s, but even so, the latter didn’t give up and kept attacking fiercely. As the fight went on and the Watcher struck the boy, Gabriel’s power gradually increased, as if trying to match his opponent’s strength.
“I’ll show you my power. And I hope you don’t get scared, brat…”
“Incredible… I never imagined someone with so much power. I could swear it rivals Asael’s strength…” the young warrior thought.
In the hidden valley, the guardians were worried, as they could now confirm the rumors that Samael was one of the strongest generals in Arcan. That’s why Zeqel had stood no chance against him.
Sensing him among the youths, they considered going to help Gabriel, fearing for his life. However, Miguel asked them to be patient and to trust in him, because this was his fight. Besides, he wanted to see how far Gabriel’s power could go.
Gabriel, though threatened by his enemy, didn’t lower his arms, as he wanted to test everything he had learned from his master. He also knew his friends were waiting for him. His strength began to expand outward, and together with Samael’s, made rivers and mountains tremble as if struck by a great earthquake.
As expected, this would not go unnoticed by Asael and his companion, who were enjoying a moment of indulgence and carnal pleasure.
“Hmm? What is this I feel? Whose presence is that?” the Watcher wondered.
“How strange… I don’t know. But Samael is about to have a good battle. Should we go?” Ramael replied.
“No… Let him handle his own matters. We have our own. Let’s see how skillful he really is… my dear brother.”
A tremendous fight had begun. Blow after blow, strike after strike, the two warriors clashed like comets in the sky as everything around them shook...
“I can see you’re very strong, boy, but you still haven’t landed a single solid hit. What’s wrong? Have you run out of strength?”
“Damn it! This guy is so fast!”
The battle was becoming increasingly difficult for Gabriel, as Samael kept growing stronger…
“What’s happening? Why can’t I hit him? It’s like he’s getting stronger during the fight… or maybe I’m losing my strength…”
“Looks like you’re finally afraid, now that you realize the opponent you’re facing, huh? Let me tell you something: you’re not losing your power… I’m just invincible,” said Samael, laughing.
The Arcanian began to relentlessly pummel the nearly defeated boy, who—despite trying—could do nothing to defend himself.
Back in Daniel’s home, those present sensed that things weren’t going well, and that the gap between their powers was growing wider. The master considered going to assist his disciple, but the Arcan guardians stopped him, saying it was their duty. It was them Samael was after, and because of them, the young man’s life was now in danger.
Both Arcanians rushed to intervene in the battle, assuring Daniel that his apprentice would return safely. As they said their goodbyes, Daniel knew he might never see his comrades again, and his heart filled with grief...
“Goodbye, old friend… The rest is in your hands.”
Gabriel was in critical condition and about to become another victim of that ruthless Watcher…
“Don’t tell me you’re already tired? This is getting boring, so now I’ll kill you and keep that sword as a trophy…”
“I can’t feel my strength anymore… Maybe I wasn’t as strong as I thought. The sage warned me… I’m probably going to die…”
Gabriel lay on the ground, powerless, nearly unconscious, awaiting death. And just before the Arcanian could land the final blow, Ananel and Satoel arrived to help…
“Wait!” shouted Ananel.
“What? Oh, the deserters. How convenient… I was just about to come looking for you after finishing off this one—I don’t even know where he came from…”
“We haven’t committed any crime. However, you’ve killed Zeqel and are torturing an innocent. How do you think the Patriarch will react when he finds out?”
“Our lord already knows,” Samael replied, laughing.
“What?” asked Satoel.
“As you can see, he sent me to kill you. You have no salvation,” Samael said cruelly.
“Looks like we have no choice but to fight you for our survival,” said Ananel.
“And you think you stand a chance?” the Watcher mocked.
“If we don’t try, we’ll never know,” Satoel replied.
“Fine. This will be fun. I’ll show you I’m the strongest among Arcan’s generals…”
“Stop!” shouted Gabriel, who, with what little strength he had left, had stood up.
Ananel and Satoel were surprised...
“You again? I thought you were dead,” said Samael, bored.
“I thought I was going to die too, but I remembered I have a mission, and right now I can’t afford to fall to a miserable being like you. So I’m sorry, Samael… but this fight is mine to win!” Gabriel challenged the Watcher once more as he rose into the sky with his sword in hand.
Satoel thought: “I can’t believe that boy stood up after being almost dead.”
“Why can’t I feel his presence? It’s like he’s not even here…” Ananel was confused by what the young man was showing.
“I’ve had enough! My patience is gone with all of you! I’ll destroy you! I won’t leave a single one alive!”
Gabriel’s body began to emit a brilliant light as he inhaled and exhaled, filling his mind with peace.
“My master taught me to keep our souls pure and free from darkness. And with my friends, I discovered the truth of life. The friendship I have with them makes me believe I’m not alone, and gives me the strength to achieve the impossible. I feel more confident when they’re with me… and right now, I can feel their souls beside me. That’s why I’ll fulfill the promise I made to them…”
“What nonsense are you saying?! I’ll show you my greatest attack and make you all disappear! Not even your ashes will remain!”

“If we don’t do something, we’ll die,” warned Ananel.
“There’s no need to interfere in the fight. I believe that boy will win,” replied Satoel.
“Why do you say that?”
“Can’t you feel it? Even though we don’t sense his presence, he’s increasing his inner power more than you can imagine. He’s even surpassed both of us. Samael has already realized it… that’s why he’s decided to use his full strength.”
“So, you plan to use the legendary sword? It won’t help you. Take this—my greatest attack!
THE DESTRUCTION OF THE SHADOWS OF DEATH!”
The Watcher’s most powerful attack was unleashed upon the guardians and Gabriel…
A massive ball of energy was launched from the sky by Samael. Darkness covered the land as the ground split apart. It seemed the world was about to collapse. However, Gabriel gripped the sword with all his strength, and it began to emit a unique glow…
“Powerful legendary sword… allow me to use your power to defeat the enemy. For my friends, my mother, my master, and all the inhabitants of AN…
Take this!
CLASH OF PLANETS!”
With a single upward swing of the legendary sword, Gabriel unleashed a massive shining wave of light that collided directly with Samael’s attack, making the darkness vanish completely…
“So that’s the legendary sword in action!” shouted Satoel.
“How can someone like you have all that power? Then the rumors about the legendary weapons… were true. Still, I won’t be defeated!” Samael shouted, confused and stunned.
The force of both attacks hovered between them. Immediately, the shockwave began to push Samael back, and at that moment, he felt fear…
“What? This can’t be happening… I feel like his power is shaking my bones. Why…? I’m one of the strongest generals!
Nooooooo!”
And the powerful shockwave caused a great explosion that struck the Watcher directly, leaving him defenseless. But the chain reaction was so massive that it would inevitably also reach the boy. Ananel realized this and quickly threw herself in front of Gabriel to shield him. Otherwise, he surely would have died...
“This boy can’t die—the planet needs him, and I won’t let him die!... Sato, my friend… I leave the rest to you…”
“Ananel!” screamed her comrade in desperation.
Ananel used her body to protect Gabriel from the deadly energy wave, and she perished in front of Satoel’s eyes.
The battle had ended with Samael defeated and on the verge of death—but at a very high cost. The young disciple had won, but he was also in very bad shape. If the guardian hadn’t saved him, he would surely be dead.
“Young man, you’ve won a hard-fought battle. You have our respect,” Satoel said, his face heavy with sorrow.
“But because of me, Ananel has died… I’m sorry,” the boy said with tears in his eyes.
“She was always impulsive and did things without asking anyone. She was my best friend, and I’ll miss her… But I want her death not to be in vain. So you must complete your mission. Know this: she died because she believed you all would bring purity and peace back to this world. Don’t ever forget that.”
“Now you must return to your friends and prepare for what’s coming. But I must tell you something important: Samael is not the strongest of all the generals…”
“What?”
“That’s right. There are many mysteries in this world that you will have to uncover. Now don’t waste any more time… go.”
“And what about you?” Gabriel asked.
“I’ll take Samael to Arcan. He’s still alive. And I’ll speak with the Patriarch… Maybe, if I bring him back, I’ll earn forgiveness… and be able to make the Patriarch see reason, to put an end to this pointless conflict.”
Gabriel returned with the little strength he had left…
Meanwhile, in Arcan, everything was spinning out of control. Asael pressured the Patriarch to authorize his plan, and so Shemihaza summoned all the principal figures to inform them of his decision.
Those present included: Shemihaza, the Patriarch; Artaqof, ‘El, Kokabel, Yehadiel, Matrael, Baraqel, Shamsiel, Sahariel, Tumiel, Ramael, and Asael. The remaining generals—Harmoni, Turiel, Yomiel, Ananel, and Zeqel—had died in battle. Satoel was on his way to Arcan with Samael, and Daniel was with his disciples.
“Daniel must be summoned as well—he should also be here,” demanded Asael.
“You better keep quiet and speak only when spoken to,” Artaqof snapped with authority.
“Now it’s just those you see here,” said Shemihaza. “Many of you don’t know what’s going on, and I’ve gathered you all to inform you of the current situation…”
“My lord, if I may,” ‘El intervened, “I want to know what is happening. I’ve lost the presence of five generals, and the planet is undergoing great destruction. Not long ago I sensed Samael’s fall, apparently in a battle with an unknown power. Why haven’t we intervened?”
“That’s why I’ve called you here,” replied Shemihaza. “Right now, I will tell you what’s going on…
?As you know, the planet has always been sustained by the king’s power. But for the past three hundred years, he hasn’t contacted me, and I haven’t been summoned to the royal palace. Therefore, I’ve been unaware of many things. Something has happened in the universe, and it has caused a rupture in our plane—through which an unknown energy has entered. Asael has made a series of discoveries that could change everything, and this has led to the division of our people. The five generals who have died turned against me… and died in battle. I know it’s sad, but I’ve come to understand that this can only mean one thing: the end of an era… ours.”
The rest of the generals stirred at hearing such predictions and began asking questions…
“The king has abandoned us and excluded us from this world’s decisions. It’s time to make a choice. I will now let Asael speak to you, and then you’ll tell me what you think.”
“Brothers, listen,” Asael began. “I see that you’re confused and shocked by this situation, but we must remain united to move forward…
?Now I’ll tell you what I’ve discovered. When I went to the rift, I was able to contact ancient forces from the universe… and not only that, but I saw a new world. It’s still young, but perhaps that’s our destiny: to leave this place, accept its downfall, and go to that new world waiting for us—to make it our new home…”
“Is what you say true?” asked ‘El, one of the Patriarch’s most powerful pillars. “Do you have any proof of what you claim?”
“I don’t. But you must believe me. With my ability to travel through space and time, I could take you all… but…”
“That’s impossible,” Tumiel interrupted. “We can’t leave this world because there’s a very ancient seal that prevents it…”
“That’s why we’re here—to unite our strength,” Asael replied.
“Are you suggesting we take up arms and rise against the king? That’s madness. Have you forgotten that inside the castle dwell the four creatures that protect the throne? If we do that, we’d start a terrible war and destroy this planet—not to mention we probably wouldn’t survive,” Kokabel warned.
“We may not… but I have someone who will. And we’ll use that to break peace and unity. With our power, we’ll break through the seal… and finally be free without dirtying our own hands.”
After Asael’s words, the entire hall fell silent for a moment. It was inevitable that someone would ask who could be foolish enough to launch a direct attack on the king. Asael told them about the rebellious cherub and his uprising. It was just a matter of giving the order for chaos to break loose.
Apparently, the Watchers, after considering it, decided to join the cause—convinced by Asael. They gave their unconditional support to the madness, though some felt the weight of their responsibility.
“We’re supposed to protect the people from such evils… and now, we’re delivering them to destruction?” Yehadiel asked in distress.
“I fear they won’t go through with this… and I’ll be the only one responsible for this great sin,” thought Shemihaza.
They then began asking about the absentees: Daniel and Satoel. The Patriarch decided to call for a vote to ensure no one would back out of the plan. All voted in favor, knowing there was no turning back…
“Let us make a vow and commit ourselves not to retreat from this plan until it’s fully carried out. We will gather on Arcan’s tallest mountain, called the Mountain of the Sun.”
The Mountain of the Sun was a symbol of power and authority in Arcan.
Shemihaza sent a decree to every corner of the city, summoning everyone to swear allegiance. The soldiers who had served under Harmoni and the fallen generals were placed under Artaqof’s command. Daniel was also summoned, and once he arrived, Satoel would have to present himself before the Patriarch. Anyone who fled or refused to accept the vow would be labeled a traitor, a mortal enemy… and receive the maximum punishment.
When Satoel arrived, he was informed of the entire situation, and he had to decide what to do.
“Lord Satoel has arrived in the city and brings with him Lord Samael, gravely injured!”
“Let him through!” a soldier shouted.
“What’s going on here?” asked Satoel.
“Sir, we have a direct order from the Patriarch—you must present yourself before him immediately. We’ll take care of Lord Samael.”
“I’m going now.”
Satoel went straight to the Patriarch’s temple, and Samael was taken for recovery. There, Satoel was told about the great project.
“My lord, what you’re telling me is terrible. Allow me to disagree with such a decision. I believe you’ve taken the wrong path… and must reconsider, repent, and seek the king’s forgiveness…”
“You dare tell me to repent of my sins? Your only duty is to obey my orders and submit to the statutes,” the Patriarch warned.
“Sir,” Satoel explained, “our duty is to protect this world, not destroy it. I can’t allow this… I’ll have to go see the king. I’m truly sorry, my lord…”
“Enough! Now you want to override my authority? Samael was right when he told me you were a traitor. You leave me no choice but to kill you…”
“Sir, I don’t want to disobey you… I’m not a traitor, but I must protect this world, even at the cost of my life…”
“If your life is the cost, then I shall take it…”
From the shadows, ‘El appeared—one of the Patriarch’s pillars, along with Artaqof.
Satoel was shocked.
“But you’re…”
“Die, traitor!”
‘El ended Satoel’s life instantly for refusing to follow the new orders and swear the oath.
“Artaqof,” said the Patriarch, “make sure he’s buried with honors… not as a traitor.”
When the time came, the Watchers gathered to swear the oath at that mountain. There was no turning back. Ramael was sent to authorize and support Lucifer in the uprising.
The end was near.
