Chapter 143: Forced Compliance

“WHAT THE FUCK!” Aurelius cried out in horror, spewing vomit at the catastrophic scene of gore that had been laid bare before him.

He had, of course, suffered from a few deaths in the beginning and seen bizarre things as part of his loops, but this… this was twisted and unexpected.

He had understood Pultris as an angel, a being whose might were manifestations of the laws of the world, but he had not ‘grasped’ it in full until now.

Pultris had been rather humourous and obedient, at least as much as an angel would abide the words of a measly creature like him.

And Aurelius had clearly taken for granted the restraint that this angel had shown, at least in proximity to the might of the Commission and his mentor, Sage Yeltz.

Even him becoming Pultris's puppet in the third loop seemed tame compared to the blasphemous scene laid bare in front of his poor, human eyes…

“S-Stop it!” Aurelius yelled out, retching as the smell of blood wafted over.

“I wish you may calm down. They're still alive, hehe.” Pultris said mischievously.

“First of all, no contract rules have been violated. They wished harm upon you, and I merely acted in accordance to your wish to repel their attempt.”

“Secondly, you voluntarily gave up the control over your left arm, and I merely used it as a conduit to let some of my power extend temporarily beyond the seal without a breach.” He explained calmly, leisurely and greasily.

Then, he snapped his tongue, and ‘educated’ Aurelius further.

“Lastly, no harm had yet to be done to the three pirates.” He claimed, the crisp sound of the clicking tongue resonating with the blood and flesh in the air.

With a small pop, the golden threads in the air simultaneously tightened, and pulled together all of the pieces of the limbs into their ‘original’ position.

The three pirates had legs and arms once more!

However, it seemed that the process was… rather painful… given that Aurelius could see their eyeballs twitch up and down as they repeated the process of passing out and being ‘awoken’ over and over again by the mad djinn.

“So none of what I did goes against our numerous agreements! Therefore, I ask you, contractor, what do you wish for me to stop?” Pultris smiled, blowing another raspberry as all of the pirates limbs exploded spectacularly once more.

“RELEASE ME, AND RELEASE THEM!” Aurelius screamed, tears of horror starting to well up in his eyes.

You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author.

And with those magical words, all golden threads disappeared, and the various amounts of blood and gore splattered to decorate the room beyond the sealed region.

As Aurelius fell to the ground, he vomited once again onto the carpets, unable to digest the scene in any manner.

“G-Give back their limbs!” Aurelius cried out, a true symbol of empathy for the pirates in this trying situation…

“Very boring, but point taken.” Pultris said reluctantly, and playfully, restoring their limbs immediately with a smile.

However, some of their blood and flesh were still stuck to the carpet, a consequence of the incomplete nature of Pultris’s spell after they had been initially released.

All three pirates passed out on the spot, and Pultris no longer bothered to force them to stay awake for the time being.

“It has been ages since I’ve let loose…” Pultris started, yawning lazily as he considered his situation.

Aurelius, recovering from the shock significantly by now, had now started to run through his own options in his mind.

When he had made that deal with Pultris on the island, he had done so out of fear of Mr. Tona’s unreasonable training regimen, and he had no idea how much trouble that Pultris could bring him at all.

The Djinn once again struck fear of gods in Aurelius’s heart.

He would never again rely on Pultris for anything. The minuscule power that he could extract through the tiny allowances in Pultris’s seals was nothing compared to the horrors that this contract could give him.

Aurelius was going to contact the Commission. Pultris was like a wound that could not be left to fester. He could already smell its rot in his nose!

“Now, don’t be hasty.” Pultris sighed, tying Aurelius in golden threads once more.

“You’ve already lost the sage’s charm. And I’m sure that there are other arrangements that you may be able to rely on.”

“But I am very concerned that these options will bring danger to you! After all, the Commission cannot be trusted…” Pultris said, grinning a bloody smile as he spun a ridiculous tale.

This was his attempt to use his restriction against harming Aurelius in a broader sense, to allow him further action through the loophole.

And it was certainly true to an extent, given that the Commission had been dangerous for Pultris. Therefore its dangerous characteristic could apply similarly for Aurelius, who was in his own strange situation!

“You little shit! Do you think you'll get away with this? You have 1 hour until the contract expires!” Aurelius yelled in terror.

“Oh yes, but our contract, which suppresses you, rather than involves the might of the Commission is much more easily modified on the go!” Pultris said smoothly.

Aurelius’s face turned ashen. Pultris was saying that he could simply force Aurelius to yield his control over to him!

And he knew what to do now. Yelled out his suicide trigger word!

The damage that Pultris could do to his own seal and carry over to the next loop was far, far too great!

“...Fatum-” Aurelius yelled out, only to find his words stuck on his throat.

“Tsk tsk tsk. Did you think that would work again me? An angel of contracts?” Pultris said, shaking Aurelius’s palm slightly.

Fucking overpowered ASSHOLE! Aurelius screamed internally, despair engulfing his body.

  Did he… plan this?

“Yes. Everything that's happened in the last 24 hours, from your loss of the charm, to my cooperativeness was simply because I saw an excellent chance to escape the shackles of the Commission.” Pultris said casually, replying to Aurelius's lesser thoughts and sending a chill down Aurelius’s spine.

  This little!

“Of course, this is merely an opportunity for me. I need to take advantage of it. My seals are complex enough that it may take years to unshackle.” Pultris pondered.

“Tona is no fool as well, and he will cast his eyes towards you for the next 12 days…” Pultris continued.

“So yes, our goals align temporarily!” Pultris said with delight.

What fucking goals you lunatic? Aurelius thought in horror.

  “We will hunt pirates!”
