Chapter 14 The Look on his Face

Dropping to the ground, Jack's eyes were wide as they darted around the room.

"It's gotta be that needle" Jack muttered as he saw the needle lying not too far away from the door's entrance.

"Fuck... Am I gonna die?" Jack muttered, "Maybe I pushed him too far..." Jack said through gritted teeth.

Crawling on the ground, he moved to grab the needle which seemed to have some liquid clinging to the tip, it was murky white.

  Jack's vision blurred.

  The room tilted slightly.

His fingers felt numb against the floor.

If he was dying… Yueh wasn't walking away either.

Jack crawled towards Yueh, his strength rapidly depleting, he moved towards Yueh, Jack grabbed him by the collar and stabbed the needle into his neck.

"Fuck you... I ain't dying alone" Jack managed to mutter. He felt his eyes grow heavy at this point, the strength quickly leaving his body.

  ...

  Darkness pressed in around him.

For a moment, there was nothing.

  Then the sand returned.

Jack stood on the Arrakis desert once again.

The sand wildly lashed everywhere, reducing vision to almost nothing.

The heat piercing through his skin.

'This is familiar,' Jack thought to himself.

He tried to move his body, but he couldn't, 'It's that vision...'

Jack's eyes caught the figure of that person again.

'I am supposed to be dead, yet I am having this vision... could it be that I am not dead?' Jack thought to himself, his focus not on the actual vision at all.

  Joy filled his heart.

'Fuck man, I thought it was over for me there,' Jack thought to himself, his thoughts however were interrupted by loud sounds.

The feeling of ants crawling all over his skin appeared once again.

The words the being spoke increased in sound every time they were repeated.

It kept getting louder until Jack couldn't even hear himself thinking.

Jack noticed that the words began sounding familiar but not from any language he had heard before.

Through the tearing headache, Jack tried to repeat the word in his head and make sense of it.

He kept repeating it over and over again, the voice increasing in sound, banging within his head.

"Plact Ino Wark" Jack muttered as his eyes snapped open and he jumped off the ground.

Taking a heavy breath Jack's eyes were wide, his head was banging, yet the words he seemed to have been hearing in his vision seemed to have vanished from his mind.

Jack's eyes fell towards Yueh, but right now, Jack didn't feel anger.

Falling to the ground, Jack sat there for a few long moments.

  Gathering himself.

"I don't know what the vision is, but I keep having it..." Jack muttered with a sigh.

Feeling his mind stabilize a little, he glanced towards Yueh.

Standing up, Jack walked towards Yueh.

Kneeling beside his head, Jack pulled out the needle and let out a sigh as some blood oozed out.

"If Yueh dies here... things are going to get unpredictable, fast," Jack muttered as he placed his fingers on Yueh's neck to check his pulse.

  One second.

  Two.

  Then...

  A pulse.

  Jack exhaled slowly.

  "Thank God..."

"It's there," Jack muttered as he fell back on the ground, moving his hand to his own neck where it had grazed him, it was mostly calcified with dried blood already due to its very small injury point.

"What do I even do with Yueh...?" Jack questioned himself. He was silent for a few moments before standing up and walking towards his curtains, and taking one of them out of the rods holding it up.

With the nearly 4-meter-long curtain, Jack walked towards Yueh and tied him up.

"Not the best, but it will have to do for the moment," Jack muttered staring at Yueh who was completely tied up by the curtain restricting any possible movement.

Placing his hand on Yueh's neck again, Jack checked to make sure Yueh was not simply just dying at a very slow pace.

"I guess he attacked me with a sedative," Jack muttered feeling the stable pulses.

He didn't stop there however, he opened Yueh's mouth and looked towards the molars, reaching inside Jack checked around, and sure enough, One of Yueh's molars was artificial, Jack gently pulled it out and put it aside.

"Perhaps a last measure?" Jack guessed to himself, he waited for Yueh to wake up, but it took too much time so Jack walked away and picked up the needle near the door. He wanted to inspect it, but that's when Yueh woke up.

His mouth was tied shut, but he loudly groaned.

Turning around, Jack and Yueh's eyes met.

A fury seemed to have been ignited in Yueh's eyes, he tried to lash out, moving around trying to escape, but he couldn't.

Jack glanced at him in silence as he struggled in futility.

Yueh did not give up, he kept trying to break free but eventually he realized the futility of his struggle.

Seeing him not struggling anymore, Jack moved as well, grabbing a chair.

He dragged the chair across the floor.

The scraping sound echoed in the quiet room.

He placed it a few meters across from Yueh and sat down.

  Jack didn't speak.

He simply looked at Yueh who had fury still present in his eyes.

"You had a plan. It didn't work. Now we talk." Jack said, breaking the silence.

Jack could make out that Yueh tried to bite down hard in his mouth, but nothing happened, his eyes widened.

  The fury vanished.

Jack stood up, removed the curtain from his mouth and sat back down across him.

Jack was silent, and Yueh seemed to be far too stunned to speak.

  "So, let's talk," Jack said.

  "You people…"

  He laughed weakly.

"You are sick. Cold-blooded monsters." Yueh softly muttered.

"All of you, You are all monsters!" He shouted agitatedly, a few tears streaming down his face.

"How sick can one be!" He shouted on his knees.

'Aren't I the one who was attacked here?' Jack thought to himself.

Yueh tightly gritted his teeth before his anger vanished, and he fell backwards to the ground, his eyes staring at the roof.

Jack let out a soft sigh as he stood up and walked towards Yueh.

Standing over him, Jack looked down.

"Just end me, I don't care," Yueh said.

'I went too far...' Jack thought to himself with a frown.

The silent stab of remorse hitting him in his heart,

For a moment, the anger faded.

Somehow, none of it mattered as much as the look on Yueh's face.
