  The Twin Red Vipers hissed angrily at the strangers. They felt apprehensive, especially towards Hua Qingqing.

  This time Long Tianyu was more serious and careful as he stood ready before the Twin Red Vipers. Expanding his soul sense, he could feel their cultivation level.

  This is my first true fight in many years. A demonic beast at the sixth stage of the Elementary Qi Realm. I cannot afford to be sloppy like last time.

  Long Tianyu warned himself not to repeat past mistakes. Both he and Hua Qingqing held swords. She had handed his Twin Shadow Blades to him just before they ran.

  He paused, looking at the Twin Red Vipers. For some reason, he did not feel fear. It was as if this was just another day.

  “Qingqing, can you let me do it?” Long Tianyu suddenly grinned. He felt his bloodline roaring with power as he held the sword. He now understood he should have focused on the sword all along. His bloodline was far too important to his cultivation and strength to ignore.

  “Tianyu?” Hua Qingqing looked at him, confused. He had just been defeated by a tree, and now he wanted to fight a strong demonic beast.

  But she could feel it. His aura had changed ever since he held the sword from her storage pouch. Is it different once he sees an enemy? He wasn't like this before.

  Long Tianyu tossed one of the Twin Shadow Blades away as he only held one.

  I practiced too little with both of them, this would be the best for now.

  As Hua Qingqing helped Bai Qing away from the Twin Red Vipers, Long Tianyu planted his feet firmly and raised the sword. The air around him seemed to ripple as his bloodline flared, mixing with the qi he had gathered. The Twin Red Vipers circled cautiously.

  Long Tianyu’s soul sense spread across the terrain focusing on one of the heads while he looked at the other. He was still far from possessing a truly powerful soul sense, but it was more than enough to deal with this.

  The nearest viper lunged, its jaw snapping toward Long Tianyu. He did not flinch. With a fluid motion, he swung his sword, meeting the fangs with a sharp clash. The sound echoed through the forest like thunder. Qi surged along his arm, and he felt the raw power of his bloodline channeling through the blade.

  The second head of the viper hissed and attacked Long Tianyu. He grabbed his sword with both hands and roared as he pressed the sword towards the viper's fangs, making it fall backwards without a loud bang and focused on the second one that was attacking from his back, parrying the strike and countering with a swift slash. The tip of his sword cut through the air, narrowly missing the second viper's scales.

  Long Tianyu lunged forward, his feet cutting a path through the forest floor. He struck the second viper across its scales, and a spray of blood shot into the air. The beast screeched, recoiling, but it was far from defeated. It twisted violently, its other head snapping at him. Long Tianyu barely dodged, rolling to the side and feeling the wind of the strike brush past his face.

  The second head, angered by the the injury, coiled toward Long Tianyu. He sidestepped, planting his feet and using a sudden burst of qi to amplify his next strike. His sword blazed with power as it connected with the viper’s body, sending the creature crashing into a nearby tree. The impact rattled the ground and nearby blood red bushes.

  He tightened his grip on the sword and focused, letting his bloodline guide him. Each strike, each movement was precise, calculated, yet fluid like flowing water. The Twin Red Vipers attacked in tandem, their movements synchronized, trying to overwhelm him.

  But Long Tianyu was no longer the same man, once he held the sword he turned sharp, unforgiving and powerful.

  Hua Qingqing's heart fluttered as Long Tianyu seemed to have changed into someone else, he was just in Elementary Realms but he gave of an extremely powerful aura.

  What will happen once he is even stronger??

  Bai Qing looked at Long Tianyu, stunned by his aggressive battle against the Twin Red Vipers. They hissed angrily as more cuts appeared on its body, one of them had a deep cut just above its eyes. They tried to flank him from both sides, just as they had done to her. Instead, both were injured as Long Tianyu swiftly slashed at them, using all of his origins together.

  Long Tianyu felt a surge of exhilaration. This is what it means to truly fight. His sword hummed with power, and his bloodline flared brighter than ever. He could feel the Twin Red Vipers weakening, their movements slowing, their attacks less precise.

  The two vipers hissed sharply while Long Tianyu had jumped backwards to create more distance between them. He looked at the two, their scales were a mess and blood flowed like a river on the ground. He looked at himself, he was unscathed even though it had been close a few times. Far away lay the bodies of Bai Qing's sect members. Broken limbs and blood seeped into the ground.

  This bastard had lived long enough.

  Time to end this!

  His shallow understanding of the Supreme Annihilation Sword Scripture came alive, and his aura changed once more, becoming increasingly sharp and divine.

  Long Tianyu closed his eyes and took a stance, lowering his knees and holding his sword sideways. At the same time, the Twin Red Vipers spotted an opening as the foolish human that stopped moving. Both slithered rapidly across the ground, opening their massive jaws and revealing their fangs to kill Long Tianyu.

  Without a warning Long Tianyu's eyelids opened and blood red qi erupted along Long Tianyu’s sword as he roared.

  “Blood Slaughtering Slash!”

  A sharp sound rang out as his sword cut through the air. A blood red sword intent exploded from Long Tianyu, surging straight toward the Twin Red Vipers.

  A shrill hiss burst forth, sharp and broken, as terror flashed through the demonic beast’s slit pupils.

  The blood red sword qi tore through their scales and detonated outward, sending a long wave of blood spraying across the ground and killing the Twin Red Vipers instantly.

  A loud bang echoed as their severed heads struck the earth.

  Hua Qingqing and Bai Qing stared in awe at Long Tianyu. What he had just done was something Hua Qingqing had never thought possible. She did not truly understand what it was, but she had a strong hunch that it had something to do with his bloodline.

  Long Tianyu exchanged a glance with Hua Qingqing, and in that silent moment, they understood each other perfectly, and she nodded, he was safe.

  Puff.

  Long Tianyu coughed up a mouthful of blood, and went down on one knee, having clearly overexerted himself. He was not yet accustomed to this power, and by chance he had activated the Blood Slaughtering Slash, forcefully killing the Twin Red Vipers.

  Long Tianyu collapsed onto the blood-soaked ground, utterly exhausted, yet a surge of exhilaration coursed through him.

  He felt alive, powerful, unstoppable. For the first time in a long while, he was finally strong again.
