Chapter 71
The center of Tollan's capital city was packed. It was as if the entire world was present at Omak's funeral. When SG-1 arrived at the ceremony, they found Narim and went to a secluded spot to watch the proceedings.
Carter, holding the holographic device Narim gave her in her hand, made overtures to speak to Narim about the message.
"Not now…" whispered Narim. "We can discuss that matter after the funeral."
Daniel, sensing the tension, quickly switched topics.
"There must be hundreds here, no thousands, of people in attendance,"said Daniel.
"Daniels right, there sure is a lot of people here. Honestly, I can't believe so many people liked that guy… no offense to the dead" said O'Neill making a crucifix of the Lantean cross on his chest.
Narim chuckled and smiled, " To foreigners, Omak may have seemed harsh –"
"Yeah a little," O'Neill interrupted.
"But to his people he was a sage, a shepherd who helped guide his people to a new home in the wake of our original homeworld's destruction," finished Narim.
"I'm sure he was a great guy, he was just a little – mean,"said O'Neill.
As SG-1 looked throughout the crowd, a radiant beam of blue light appeared on the other side of the ceremony. Emerging from that brilliant blue allure was none other than Thor, accompanied by Freyr, Heimdal and a few others.
"Sir, check it out, it's Thor!" stated Major Carter as she tapped Col. O'Neill on his shoulders.
O'Neill, Narim, and the rest of SG-1 quickly turned and walked towards the Asgard delegation and their companions.
"Thor, buddy! It's been so long! I didn't fancy seeing you here," said O'Neill.
Thor walked up to Col. O'Neill and said, "Greetings, O'Neill it has been some time. We were contacted by Chancellor Penegal of Omak's death and I, along with several members of the Asgard High Council, decided to send a delegation to pay our respects."

Daniel, wondering about the people with them, asked, "So Thor, who are your friends?".
Freyr, stirred by Dr. Jackson's words, opened his mouth and said, "These are representatives of the Lantean Commonwealth, a coalition of some of the most advanced worlds in three galaxies."
O'Neill, recognizing Freyr's voice, responded, "Freyr, is that you? How is your mother doing?"
Freyr began to shake his head and curse at O'Neill's mention of his mother, when a member of the Commonwealth delegation moved up to the front.
"I can't believe you don't recognize me," said one of the Commoners.
"...Kalan?" said Teal'c inquisitively.
"Oh My God, it is Kalan,"confirmed Major Carter. "Wait, how have you been, it's been years since we've last seen you. Has Orban joined this organization?"
Kalan smiled, "Why yes, yes it has and yes, yes we did."
Sam looked at the tall green alien accompanying them and asked, "and what world do you come from?"
The giant green man with white patches and scaly skin smiled and said, "My name is Warrick. I come from the Hebridan and Serrakin Federation. It's a union of fourteen worlds outside in the Delta Quadrant of this Galaxy.
"Fourteen worlds? I wonder why we haven't heard of you," said Daniel.
"Probably because we're outside of the Stargate Network. We have several colonies and outposts but until recently we kept to ourselves," stated Warrick.
Jack took his time to look at the other members of the Commonwealth delegation, especially the woman with big boobs and a tight white dress.
"And what's your name, lovely lady? Where do you all come from," said Jack as he briefly dipped his sunglasses to look at the beautiful woman's humungous breasts.
"My name is Freya. I come from the planet Alfheim… I'm an elf." she answered with a brilliant smile draped across her face.
"Alfheim, the ancient Norse home of the Elven race," said Daniel, "When we were on Katao their people referred to us as elves. It makes sense that the Asgard would be in contact with actual elves.
"I wonder if there are Dwarves and Hobbits too," said O'Neill as the rest of SG-1 shook their head and laughed.
Freya remained silent, careful not to say too much and gave an awkward bow then curtsied her tits jiggling with every movement.
"So why do you all call yourselves the Lantean Commonwealth then, if you come from different worlds?" wondered O'Neill.
Kalan looked at Col. O'Neill and said, "We actually took that name in honor of the Ancients. Over 10,000 years ago the Ancients submerged their once great city after suffering a devastating loss at the hand of an evil alien race called the Wraith."
"Submerged their great city? That sounds awfully like the Earth legend of Atlantis," said Daniel.
"That's because it is, Atlantis, Daniel Jackson," said Thor.
Daniel's curiosity piqued rapidly, "You mean the Ancients – the Gatebuilders – were also the ones behind the legend of Atlantis?"
"Yes, Dr. Jackson, they were," said Freya.
"That's… groundbreaking."
"Well what do you know, Daniel, you learn something new everyday," said O'Neill as Daniel digested these words.
"Jack, don't you know what this means? If the Ancients are the builders of both the Stargates and Atlantis, then the Ancients first originated on Earth,"said Daniel.
"You don't say," said O'Neill nonchalantly.
"I don't think you get how important this news is sir," added Carter, "Who knows, maybe Atlantis may still be on Earth,"
"Why of course it is!" said O'Neill, "Why else would Disney be making that new movie next year. Daniel, why don't you audition."
Daniel shook his head and silently cursed. "Jack, everything we could have ever possibly wanted could be in that city. If it is the former capital of the Ancients. We could find weapons and technologies to defend Earth."
"Wait, guns… now you're talking my language," said O'Neill.
As SG-1 continued to bicker on the implications of Atlantis and the rise of the Lantean Commonwealth, High Chancellor Travelle arrived and began the funeral.
