Zeldi yanked the door open with a snarl. "Get yo cotton ass off my property maggot brain!"
I was given a direct view of her tail as it flicked from side to side in agitation. A sign my father had taught me ment 'get the hell away from the ass end of that horse unless you want those back hooves to carve you out a new hole.'
"Is that anyway to treat your new caretaker little milk maid?" A voice so full of sarcasm I could almost touch it said back.
"Bite me! You ain't my caretaker and you never will be!" Zeldi growled and crossed her arms under her chest and I was a little disappointed I was on the wrong side to see it's full effect.
I missed a lot of what was said next as I made sure the bnket was secured around my waist But when I started paying more attention it was obvious I missed something important as I arrived to Zeldi in absolute shock as she stared at a piece of paper in her hands.
In front of her standing far enough away Zeldi couldn't strike her was a fawn woman. Or at least as far as I could tell from the light brown skin with patches of fur and two small horns poking out of her head. I didn't look too closely as she had a rather rge man who's lower half turned into a snake. He was obviously this women's guard bast on the leather vest he wore and the sword on his belt.
I slipped up besides Zeldi trying not to startle her as I read over her shoulder.
[
To current caretaker and livestock of Leyline Farm.
As no one has brought forward the deed to Leyline Farm in three years it has been decided that a professional caretaker must be established. After taking note of her previous success's, Tilty will be taking this role starting on the night of the second revival.
As per the system. This caretaker will possess all functional operations within the compound including the buying or selling of livestock as well as any maintenance that is needed.
This caretaker will be required to remain until the deed is found or they are unable to continue with the caretaker role.

That didn't seem good.
"Well who are you handsome?" The fawn cooed once she noticed me. "Don't tell me the milk maid actually needed some help producing. I mean I was going to get her some help anyway but you look like someone who needs more than one hole to be satisfied. Care to join my farm. I'm sure you'll find it...relieving."
The jab broke Zeldi from her reading and she winced. "When does this take effect?"
"Midnight." The fawn answered not breaking eye contact with me. She'd gone to licking her lips like I was a snack.
I returned the look but after seeing Zeldi, this new girl had nothing on her assets.
"Then I have till then to tell you to get lost!" The fight had left Zeldi and she turned around only waiting long enough for me to join her inside before shutting the door.
"Enjoy your st night of freedom milk tits, and ask that hunk if he wants to join me after he gets bored of you. Or better yet get him to breed you proper. Otherwise I've got a few goblins in a nearby farm that are mighty fertile." The fawn cackled. The sound continuing even after the door was shut.
Zeldi stood just behind the door with her face pressed against the wood and waited. She didn't move until the footsteps of the fawn had disappeared and when she did turn around it was obvious from the red puffiness she had been trying not to cry.
Reflexively I pulled her into a hug and buried her face into my chest. Then she really did cry.
It wasn't a loud cry that could be heard for miles but a soft one that shead so many tears.
After Zeldi felt like she could rise up again she pulled herself out of my embrace. The dust and mud I'd noticed on her face previously was marred with streaks from her tears and patches where she had rubbed against me.
This also showed me that I was half a head taller than her.
"Bloody hoof rot, I shouldn't have dragged you into this I'm sorry. Should have just left well enough alone and not wished at midnight for a savior. You don't deserve any of this."
"Well I'm here now so what can be done?" I asked using the edge of the towel to wipe off her tears from my chest.
Zeldi shook her head to dismiss my question. "I got you sent here so I'll give you as much as I can to give you a new start on life here in Pamereta. There's a cart in the shed that you can use. May as well use the st few hours as the caretaker here to give you some freebies before that horned harlot comes back."
She tried to make her way past me and deeper into her house but I stopped her. I couldn't tell you why I didn't just take what she was offering and go other than it just didn't feel right.
"Can you tell me what's going on in detail. I might be able to help."
Zeldi sighed. "To help me now you would need to have the deed to this farm. Something that has been lost for a long time and is probably sitting in some Barons vault to be given to his kids when they come of age. Otherwise I will become Tilty's new livestock and she will sell me to her other farm just to punish me for not letting her be the caretaker earlier."
Again she tried to get past but I blocked her. "I'm a traveler remember? Can you expin it to me more clearly?"
"It doesn't matter. You can't help me without the deed so let me at least get you something so I don't regret ruining your life!" She half yelled half sobbed while stamping her front hoof.
"I have the deed." I fired back. "But I still don't understand what exactly is happening."
That brought her up short and she whipped her human half around to look at me so quickly I was afraid she broke her spine.
"What did you say?"
"I don't understand what's happening." I said back with a small smile.
"No before that?" Sha asked again turning her body back to face me fully.
"I'm a traveler remember." I answered a little too pyfully.
Zeldi got right up close to my face and abs the small game I was pying to be direct. "Do you really have the deed to this farm?"
I thought back to the words that had appeared just before I lost consciousness and they appeared in the top left of my vision like a game notification.
You have inherited "Leyline Farm deed"
"Yes. Unless you have been lying to me and this isn't Leyline Farm?"
Zeldi immediately dropped to the ground. So quickly I heard the audible sp of her chest then her head hitting the floorboards.
"Please Clovek accept the deed into your name and become the owner of this nd before Tilty can."
Accept the deed? How do I do....
Would you like to accept the inherited 'deed of Leyline Farm'
Yes / no
Hmmm. I guess that answered that.
You have cimed the deed for 'Leyline Farm' we wish you a benevolent harvest farmer Clovek.
A bunch of notifications popped up that I immediately banished to the side, least they blind me.
"You really did have the deed." Zeldi mumbled still looking at the ground. "Then it is my duty to assist you on this farm Master Clovek."
"Call me Master and we will be doing anything but farming." I replied with a chuckle.
Zeldi chuckled as well then raised her head. "Then how would you like me to address you Master?" She made sure to accentuate the st part with a purr. "I am at your disposal."
Before I could reply a pop up fshed in front of Zeldi.
Zeldi (Centaur)
Status: Relieved
Position: Livestock (milk maid)
Product: Centaur milk (D-)
Harvestable: Yes
"Centaur milk?" The question slipped out before I could stop it.
"Well yes I did say I was a livestock for this farm or now your farm now. My job from will be to provide you with my milk so that you can use the system to upgrade the farm and improve our quality of life." She went to an almost whisper as she continued. "Or you could sell me on as is your right being the owner."
"I won't sell you don't worry but I'm going to need you to expin exactly what I just agreed to by accepting this deed. You mentioned I'm here because of you wishing apon a star or something so if you want to make it up to me then be my guide." I said shaking my head slightly at the ridiculousness of it all. I mean centaurs are weird to begin with but some game stats like I'm in a weird version of a farming simutor?
"Master. It would be my pleasure to show you exactly what needs to be done around here and how to properly care for your livestock." Zeldi answered, and I didn't miss the flutter of her eyebrows as she did so.
