The call from NASA

  Year 2041

On Earth, almost everyone has one dream — to step on the Moon.

But in California, inside a NASA research center, that dream suddenly became a desperate need.

The scientists were working like machines. Nobody smiled. Nobody even blinked properly.

“Doctor Joseph! The radar is correct! Something huge is coming toward Earth!” Professor Emma shouted, her voice shaking.

“It’s not an asteroid… not a meteorite… and it’s moving at 60,000,000 miles per hour,” Jr. Kurro added, practically screaming. “Earth will be hit in less than a month!”

Doctor Joseph dropped his glass of water.

“We… we need to find another planet. Another star. Something. But we don’t have time,” he said, almost whispering. “We’ll have to send people to the Moon.”

Outside NASA, no one knew anything. Life was normal.

And somewhere far away, three school friends — Tony, Steve, and Neil — still dreamed about touching Moon dust.

But they never got the chance.

  Tony became a carpenter.

Steve… well, Steve did nothing except dream about the Moon 24/7.

And Neil got a job at a hotdog shop.

One day, Neil called both of them and they had the most lame conversation ever.

“I have evidence that life exists on the Moon!” Steve shouted, sounding way too excited.

Tony rolled his eyes. “Steve, please get a job.”

“But why did you call us, Neil?” both of them asked at the same time.

Neil answered in a calm voice, “My brother works at NASA… he told me the world is going to end.”

Tony burst out laughing like a donkey.

“Neil, have you also become like stupid Steve? Want to fly to the Moon now?”

  Neil slammed his own forehead.

“Shut up, Tony! I don’t talk nonsense. Listen properly.”

He told them everything NASA was hiding.

  Tony suddenly stopped laughing.

“Oh… that serious? Now it makes sense,” he said quietly. “But what can we even do? We’ll just get destroyed with everyone else!”

  Neil smirked.

“Meet me at Zopio Hotdog tomorrow. I’ll tell you everything.”

  Meanwhile, NASA made an announcement:

They needed three or four normal people to come to their facility. They were even offering money.

That mysterious “thing” in space was now 28 days away from Earth.

The next day, Tony, Steve, and Neil met again at Zopio Hotdog.

“So what exactly are we doing here?” Steve asked.

“Didn’t you hear? NASA needs three people,” Neil said.

Tony and Steve shrugged. “Okay, but what does that have to do with us?”

  Neil hit his forehead again.

“You idiots… they need people to check for a new place to live. Which means…”

  He leaned closer.

  “We’re going to the Moon.”
