At Clan Origin, Rey and Alex immediately ordered all high-ranking members to prepare for the arrival of guests from the Kingdoms of Xylandra and Hyleos. The visit was scheduled to take place one month before the Clan Tournament of the Kingdom of Christope.
The atmosphere within the command hall was tense but controlled.
Rey turned toward Willson and spoke in a low, serious tone.
“When the guests from those nations arrive,” Rey said, “I, Alex, and the other Players will observe from the shadows. You understand what I mean… don’t you?”
Willson did not hesitate. He nodded firmly.
“I understand.”
Willson knew very well what Rey was implying. There was a high probability that other nations possessed Players who might recognize Rey and Alex. Keeping them hidden was the best possible move to avoid exposing their true strength and existence.
Rey continued, his voice steady.
“I want every division to begin intensive training immediately,” he said.
“They will be given missions to enter the Dungeon and raise their levels.”
Willson listened attentively.
“They will be led by Tristan, Eris, Vincent, and Evelyn,” Rey continued.
“The forces will be divided into two main groups. Tristan and Vincent will lead Divisions One through Ten, while Eris and Evelyn will command Divisions Eleven through Twenty.”
Rey’s expression hardened.
“They are only permitted to enter up to the Eighth Floor. No further.”
He paused before adding with emphasis,
“The Seventh Floor is not a place for them to use as a leveling ground.”
Willson nodded deeply, fully aware of how dangerous that floor truly was.
Alex then spoke up.
“Willson,” he said, “the mage divisions must also push their performance faster. I’ve already gathered information about the Clan Tournament. It will begin in less than two months.”
“I understand,” Willson replied.
“I’ll inform the other leaders.”
Alex then added one more thing, his tone sharpening.
“And Emily must be guarded strictly. I’m worried something might happen when Eris is not with her.”
Willson’s expression suddenly darkened. His brows furrowed as he hesitated.
“Rey… Alex,” Willson said slowly, “regarding Emily…”
Both Rey and Alex turned to him instantly.
“She is… not with Eris right now.”
Rey and Alex were stunned.
Willson continued, his voice awkward.
“To be honest, all of us have tried our best to remind her. But Emily does not recognize any of us.”
He swallowed.
“And then… Emily requested to go to your residence, Rey.”
Rey froze.
“What do you mean?” Rey asked.
Willson looked even more uncomfortable.
“She said… you are her husband. And she wants to stay with you at all times.”
Alex burst out laughing.
“Hahahahaha—!”
Rey, on the other hand, looked utterly frustrated.
“Is Emily in my room right now?” Rey asked, rubbing his forehead.
Willson nodded.
“Yes. That’s correct. We tried everything to stop her, but she insisted on entering your room.”
Rey let out a long sigh.
“…Alright. I’ll handle that matter myself.”
He then turned back to Willson.
“For now, focus on the tasks we’ve assigned.”
Willson bowed slightly and left.
The moment Willson disappeared from sight, Alex laughed again and slapped Rey on the back.
“Hahaha! Looks like you got yourself a new wife,” Alex teased.
“I’m jealous. Emily’s not bad at all.”
Before Rey could respond—
“Ow!!”
Floryn appeared from behind and grabbed Alex’s ear.
“Ohhh?” she said coldly.
“So now you’re looking for another woman?”
“H-Hey, Floryn!” Alex yelped.
“Calm down! This is about Rey, not me!”
Floryn narrowed her eyes.
Alex quickly added,
“I’m serious! If you don’t believe me, ask Rey yourself!”
At that moment, Melvin, Elysa, and Luna approached them. They had overheard part of Rey and Willson’s earlier conversation.
Their expressions were complicated.
Floryn turned to Rey.
“Is that true, Rey?” she asked.
Rey sighed heavily.
“It’s about Emily entering my room,” Rey said in frustration.
“She wants to sleep with me because she believes I’m her husband.”
Floryn paused—then smiled brightly.
“Finally,” she said cheerfully.
“Finally my cousin has someone to take care of his daily needs.”
Rey frowned.
“Hey. What do you mean by that?”
Floryn crossed her arms.
“Well,” she said, “you’ve always been late—late to school, late to work, always busy. Now that someone is staying by your side, of course I’m happy.”
Rey quickly protested.
“Hey—Emily has amnesia, you know!”
Floryn shook her head.
“Amnesia doesn’t make someone claim they have a husband,” she replied calmly.
“If someone truly lost all their memories, they would feel like they know no one. But Emily said clearly that she remembers you as her husband.”
Rey fell silent.
Floryn continued,
“Maybe she only forgot her past… not everything.”
Rey and Alex both widened their eyes.
“But I’ve never met her before,” Rey said.
Floryn thought for a moment.
“I don’t know the truth either,” she admitted.
“But in this world, such things aren’t impossible, right? Maybe she saw you somewhere before.”
Rey looked at Alex.
“…We can’t jump to conclusions,” Rey said quietly.
Soon after, Rey asked Alex to discuss matters privately. Elysa, who had been listening silently, felt a sharp sting of jealousy but said nothing.
Seeing the mood, Floryn suggested that they all rest since night had already fallen.
Later that night, inside Alex’s room, Rey and Alex sat across from each other.
They discussed everything that lay ahead—the arrival of noble families from Xylandra and Hyleos, and the preparations for the upcoming tournament.
“Rey,” Alex said seriously, “we’ll leave the visiting noble families to Willson. But if we can gain support from the Hartz Family, that would be ideal.”
Rey nodded.
“That’s true,” Rey replied.

“Inform Edric about this matter later. Though… there’s a good chance they already know.”
Alex leaned back in his chair, stretching his tired body.
“Now that you’ve become a Duke in this kingdom,” Alex said, “what’s your next move?”
Rey smiled faintly, his eyes sharp.
“We’ll crush Clan Aegis and Clan Obsidian during the Clan Tournament,” Rey said calmly.
“As for the Arden Family… I’ve already made solid preparations to bring them down.”
Alex went silent.
“…You intend to take down the Arden Family as well?” he asked gravely.
Rey met his gaze.
“Bringing down the Arden Family won’t be easy,” Alex continued.
“It’ll take time.”
His expression turned cold.
“But I won’t let Marek walk away freely. His detention period still has several months left. I’ll make sure the Arden Family falls… before Marek is released.”
The room fell into silence.
Two masterminds, seated in the dark, quietly preparing for a storm that would soon engulf the entire continent.
Alex stood up from his seat and took out a single sheet of paper. He placed it carefully on the table between them.
“Rey,” Alex said calmly, “this is the team lineup and the members who will be entering the tournament. Do you have any changes?”
Rey leaned forward and examined the paper. It was already filled with detailed information about Clan Origin’s selected members, their roles, and division placements.
As his eyes scanned the list, his brows slowly furrowed.
“Alex,” Rey asked, looking up, “are you serious about placing Division Five in close-combat engagements?”
Alex raised an eyebrow but did not interrupt.
Rey stood up and picked up a writing tool from the table.
“Division Five is indeed strong in close-range combat,” Rey continued, marking the paper lightly.
“But they have a clear weakness. When they’re pressured, their defensive formation collapses too easily.”
He paused, then added firmly,
“I’ve been thinking of assigning Floryn to Division Five. She should train them and act as their instructor.”
Rey looked directly at Alex.
“You know how strong Floryn’s defensive strategies are.”
Alex smiled faintly.
“Yes,” Alex replied.
“I actually thought about that earlier. But Floryn doesn’t seem very confident about training them.”
Rey let out a soft sigh.
“…Yeah. That’s just how Floryn is,” he said.
“I’ll talk to her myself. I’ll ask her to help Division Five improve their defensive formations.”
Rey then continued, pointing at another section of the paper.
“And for the final match,” Rey said, “I suggest that every high-ranking member of Clan Origin takes part.”
Alex listened closely.
“You should place Willson in the same team as Drax, Vincent, and Luna.”
Rey tapped the paper once.
“With that team, all roles are perfectly covered.”
He paused again.
“For Tristan’s team, however… we’re lacking a reliable support.”
Alex leaned back slightly.
“What about Emily?” he asked.
Rey fell silent for a moment.
“…Emily’s condition isn’t entirely stable,” Rey said cautiously.
“Are you sure about that?”
Alex reached into his coat and pulled out another document.
“This is the data compiled by Luna and the medical team while treating Emily,” Alex explained.
“Luna herself said that Emily’s stats are completely unreasonable.”
He looked serious.
“She’s already strong. More than ready for combat. The only issue she has is her memory loss.”
Alex met Rey’s gaze.
“So the key… lies with you, Rey.”
Rey remained quiet for several seconds.
Finally, he nodded.
“Alright,” Rey said decisively.
“I’ll talk to Emily later.”
Alex exhaled lightly.
“At this point, all our preparations are solid,” he said.
“With the upcoming training sessions across all divisions, they’ll grow stronger—and gain real experience.”
The two of them continued discussing possible complications that might arise during the tournament. Strategies, contingencies, and hidden variables were carefully dissected.
When their discussion finally ended, Rey left the room and headed toward his own quarters.
When he arrived, he noticed something unusual.
The door… was not locked.
Rey entered cautiously.
Before he could take another step—
“Rey, you’re back,” a gentle voice greeted him.
“I’ve been waiting for you.”
Rey turned and saw Emily inside his room.
He froze.
Her clothing was… revealing. Not inappropriate, but far too eye-catching.
Rey quickly turned his head, flustered.
“E-Emily,” he said awkwardly, “could you… change your clothes?”
Emily tilted her head, confused.
“Didn’t you like it when I dressed like this when we slept together?” she asked innocently.
Rey’s face instantly heated up.
“No—! I mean—!”
He quickly interrupted himself.
“Please,” Rey said hurriedly.
“There’s something important I need to discuss with you.”
Emily blinked, then nodded.
She changed into her usual clothes and sat on the chair opposite Rey.
Rey took a deep breath.
“Emily,” he began carefully,
“I don’t know how you came to recognize me… or why you say I’m your husband.”
He hesitated.
“But could I ask you to sleep with Eris, or with the other female members instead?”
Emily’s expression slowly darkened.
“…Rey,” she said softly,
“Do you not like me anymore?”
Rey shook his head immediately.
“That’s not it,” he said.
“It’s just that… we’re not husband and wife right now.”
Emily looked down.
“In my memories,” she said quietly,
“you are already my husband.”
She raised her gaze.
“And you were very strong in battle. But… there’s something I can’t remember clearly.”
Rey stiffened.
“…Something?” he asked cautiously.
“What do you mean?”
Emily hugged herself slightly.
“I don’t know who they were,” she said, sadness creeping into her voice.
“But they came… and brought destruction.”
Rey’s heart tightened.
“Destruction?” he asked.
“Who was destroyed?”
Suddenly, Emily clutched her head.
“Ah—!”
She staggered.
Rey rushed forward and gently laid her down on his bed.
“I… I can’t remember clearly,” Emily said weakly.
“But I can feel it. They were very strong.”
She looked at Rey.
“You must be careful.”
Rey nodded solemnly.
“Alright,” he said firmly.
“I’ll remember your warning.”
After a pause, he added,
“There’s one more important thing I want to discuss.”
Emily relaxed slightly.
“Of course,” she replied.
“What is it, Rey?”
Rey felt embarrassed again as he looked at her.
“…Would you be willing to join Clan Origin?” he asked.
“And… I want you to be on the same team as your old party, together with your biological sister.”
Emily froze.
“Clan Origin?” she repeated.
Her eyes widened slightly.
“I remember that name very clearly,” she said.
“That’s your clan, isn’t it?”
Rey was shocked.
“…You know that?” he asked.
“I do,” Emily nodded.
“You are the true leader of Clan Origin.”
Rey swallowed.
“Then… may I ask for your help?” he said sincerely.
Emily smiled warmly.
“Of course,” she replied without hesitation.
“For you, I’ll do my best.”
After that, Rey asked Emily to rest.
He took out a mattress he had bought at Will Mall and laid it on the floor beside her bed.
That night, Rey slept on the floor.
The next morning, Rey felt something warm around him.
He opened his eyes—
Emily was hugging him from behind.
Rey nearly panicked.
“Thank goodness no one’s here…” he thought.
“If anyone saw this, I’d be finished.”
Carefully, Rey freed himself from her arms and stood up quietly.
He prepared to meet Alex—
But Emily was already awake.
“Wait a moment,” she said.
“I’ll make food for you.”
When the meal was served, Rey was stunned.
The dishes looked exactly like food from Earth.
“…Who taught you to cook like this?” Rey asked.
Emily smiled brightly.
“Elysa and the others taught me,” she said happily.
Rey frowned slightly.
“You know Elysa, Melvin, and Luna?” he asked.
“Of course,” Emily replied.
“They’re like sisters to me.”
Rey was stunned once again.
“…What do you mean by that?” he asked quietly.
Emily fell silent, her expression filled with confusion. After a moment, she spoke softly.
“Just eat first,” she said.
“I need to get ready. Let’s go out together later, okay?”
Rey could only give in. He sat down and began eating the food Emily had prepared.
The moment the food touched his tongue, Rey froze.
The taste—
It was exactly the flavor he had been searching for all this time.
Earth-style cooking.
Warm. Familiar. Perfect.
For a brief moment, Rey felt an indescribable sense of comfort, as though something long lost had quietly returned to him.
After finishing the meal, the two of them left the room together.
Standing in front of them were Elysa and Melvin.
The moment they saw Rey and Emily coming out of the same room, both of them froze. Their faces instantly turned red with embarrassment.
Rey quickly raised his hand.
“Don’t misunderstand,” he said.
“Emily only stayed for a while. I’ve already told Eris to come and take her.”
Before Elysa or Melvin could respond—
Emily suddenly stepped forward and hugged both of them tightly.
Tears streamed down her face.
Rey was startled.
“Emily?” he asked gently.
“What’s wrong?”
Emily shook her head weakly.
“I don’t know…” she said through her tears.
“But… these two are very important to me.”
She clutched her chest.
“And… to you as well.”
Elysa and Melvin stood there, completely stunned. Their faces burned with shame and confusion after Emily’s words.
Just then, Eris arrived together with Tristan.
Eris immediately rushed to Emily’s side.
“Emily,” Eris asked worriedly,
“Are you okay? Tonight, sleep with your sister, alright?”
Emily smiled brightly and hugged Eris tightly.
“I’m fine, Sister,” she said.
“I missed you so much.”
Everyone watching felt uneasy.
Emily’s memories were clearly unstable—
At times, she remembered people.
At other times, she forgot everyone except Rey.
Soon after, the group moved toward the Hall of Origin.
Inside the hall, all the high-ranking members of Clan Origin had already gathered. Floryn and Luna were among them.
The moment Rey stepped inside, Alex smirked.
“Good morning, newlyweds.”
Laughter spread through the hall.
Eris looked at her younger sister, who was smiling happily, and felt a wave of gratitude wash over her heart.
As for Elysa, Melvin, and Luna—
They all felt that from now on, they needed to be more open with their feelings.
Alex began assigning tasks to each high-ranking member. Luna, Melvin, and Elysa were also given important roles to assist the preparations.
When it came to Emily, Evelyn was visibly happy—
Her close friend still remembered her.
Alex then laid out the full strategy and plans.
From the arrival of noble families from foreign kingdoms…
To the detailed preparations for the Clan Tournament.
Once everything was finalized, the hall gradually emptied.
Each high-ranking member moved according to the plans Alex had set.
They had only one grand objective—
To win the Clan Tournament.
And to stand against the overwhelming power of the major nations of the Northern Continent.
Afterward, Rey walked toward Alex and Floryn.
Lowering his voice, Rey whispered,
“Emily’s condition isn’t stable. Her memory feels incomplete. Sometimes she recognizes Eris… sometimes she forgets everyone except me.”
Floryn nodded calmly.
“I told you already,” she said.
“Her memories will likely recover once she stays by your side longer.”
Alex agreed with Floryn’s assessment.
Rey felt uneasy, yet her words made sense.
Especially since Emily was one of the candidates for the title—
‘Bond of the Strong.’
Suddenly, the system notification appeared before Rey’s eyes.
System Notification
For Candidate Emily:
The Host must find a way to fully restore her memories before the title can be activated.
Even if Emily genuinely loves the Host, the title will not activate unless her memories are completely recovered.
Rey fell silent.
In his heart, a single thought surfaced.
“Her lost memories… could they be connected to that aura?”
In a distant land—
A vast region stretched endlessly beneath a darkened sky.
At its center stood a colossal palace.
Inside the palace, a magnificent throne dominated the hall.
Upon it sat a single figure.
Before the throne, a subordinate knelt silently, not daring to speak.
The one seated on the throne had his eyes closed.
Floating crystals hovered in the air before him.
Suddenly—
A white crystal shattered.
The fragments fell and stopped directly in front of the throne.
The figure’s eyes opened.
In that instant, a terrifying aura erupted.
The kneeling subordinate struggled to breathe, his chest tightening painfully.
The being on the throne spoke calmly.
“My pet… has died.”
A faint smile formed.
“Hm. Someone has killed my pet.”
“…Interesting.”
He gathered the crystal fragments into his hand.
“That Core must be retrieved immediately.”
The kneeling subordinate spoke hurriedly.
“Lord of Slayer,” he said,
“Please grant me this task.”
The Lord of Slayer turned his gaze toward the kneeling servant.
“Your power would disrupt the balance of that world.”
The servant lowered his head further.
“I have subordinates who can be used to search for the Core.”
Silence filled the hall.
Then—
“Very well,” the Lord of Slayer said.
“But I will not tolerate failure. You understand… don’t you?”
Fear filled the servant’s voice.
“Yes, my Lord. I will carry it out at once.”
The servant immediately departed.
The Lord of Slayer stared at the shattered crystal.
“My pet possessed power capable of killing a Level 150 Player…”
His eyes narrowed.
“Have you truly returned?”
A small portal opened beside him.
Inside the portal stood another figure.
The Lord of Slayer spoke sharply.
“The Destruction. I can feel it.”
“…He has returned.”
The figure within the portal replied in a deep, cold voice.
“Oh?”
“And how are you so certain, Slayer?”
The Lord of Slayer answered cruelly.
“The Core-bound pet has been destroyed.”
The Destruction burst into laughter.
“Hahahahaha!”
“Wasn’t he dead long ago? Perhaps it was just another insignificant Player who killed your pet.”
The Lord of Slayer remained unmoved.
“It doesn’t matter,” he said.
“I have already ordered my subordinate to retrieve the Core.”
Suddenly—
A massive aura erupted from the palace.
Savage. Crushing.
A voice echoed throughout the hall.
“If you are still alive—
I will be the one to destroy you myself!”
