That voice was Fuyu.
My face was full of joy seeing Fuyu again. The purple-haired girl, the same height as me, ran towards me who was still basking in the morning sun on this steel garden bench. “Thomas!”
“Fuyu!”
As she ran closer toward me, her arms wide open, signalling that she wanted a hug. I accepted her hug.
“Oh, so our weirdest magitech girl's secret crush was one of the candidates for saints?” Fuyu’s friends gossiped.
And Fuyu realized that we were still in public. Her face turned red out of embarrassment. I laughed out of pure joy.
“I will meet you on the 4th floor library,” I whispered to her.
“Wait for me, I might be late,” Fuyu replied and smiled.
This was the first time I saw her smile like this. We had been close friends since entering this academy. Unlike Arthur, who was a childhood friend of Fuyu, I had been her close friend since grade one here because I was interested in her magitech experiment.
It still broke my heart though, to hear that Fuyu dated Arthur.
Maybe this time I would make her fall in love with me. Before Arthur got close to her, I would steal her from him. For some unknown reason I really wanted to see Arthur's desperate face. I would make him pay for abandoning us in the Lost Continent.
Slowly the sun started to sting my skin. I thought it was my time to move to another place. The front garden of the dormitory was now empty.
The other students were starting to go to their class. This day was my day off before going into the tournament tomorrow. Not long after, I saw Arthur run out from the male dormitory running towards the class building complex.
Seeing him almost made me snap. I remembered that whatever he did always ended up getting us in trouble. There was one time when he went to the dungeon alone, and he got defeated by the dungeon mini boss. And it was we who spent a lot of time and money to rescue him because of his selfishness and his desire to collect a rare sword!
“Hold it Thomas. Hold it, the time will come eventually…”
Might as well go to the exercise room to vent my anger toward him. From the front garden, I walked left towards the training ground. Since my magic was a bit dangerous if I practised above ground, I was going to spend time training in an underground training ground.
Above ground, the training ground looked like a regular arena. Underground was just like a training range with a sturdy wall to handle stronger student training. I walked toward the main entrance office, and an old man who was the head of training ground maintenance greeted me.
“Good morning, Thomas.” Mr Saode greeted me, the training ground instructor and advisor.
“Good morning, Mr Saode,” I bowed and smiled at him, expressing my deepest gratitude toward him because he was the one who always fixed up the training ground after I broke it during training.
“The underground training ground was ready. But I received instructions from Mr Lansah, your trainer, not to allow you to train today,” Mr Saode said and read a manifest in front of his desk.
“Here it read, from Mr Lansah to Thomas, please rest and make your condition prime,” Mr Saode read it like Mr Lansah used to tell me.
“Come on, let it slide this time,” I winked. “And I will bring you my homemade sandwich…”
“Hmm, interesting bribe.” Mr Saode laughed. “Bring me one, and buy me a coffee from the dining hall!”
“And perhaps if you brought it here too, with some bags of chips, I would let you in.” He continued and giggled. “Just like usual.”
“Alright, but don’t tell Mr Lansah okay?” I accepted his deal and turned my steps away from the main entrance office.
From there I took a detour toward the dining hall. Instead of going through the usual route which was straight from the training ground towards the dining hall, I took a route going to the teacher's dormitory because I wanted to meet my older sister.

I really missed her too.
Sadly in my previous life, she died because she did not want to marry the person my foster parents chose by taking her own life. A decision that I disagreed with, but in the end I failed to save her…
At this time, my older sister had to be at the front yard of the teacher's dormitory, sitting there reading her book. I took my chance to meet her.
There she was, sitting elegantly with her book in her lap. Her sparkling silver hair waved as the wind swept her. She was still in her casual shoulder-strapped red dress. I knew today was her day off too, judging by how she dressed.
“Sister Nana!”
I fastened my steps and ran toward her.
My sister put down her book and looked at me confused.
“Sister, I missed you!”
I hugged her.
“What happened to you? Didn’t we just meet yesterday?” Sister Nana asked.
“Sister!” I put my head on her chest. “Don’t leave me…”
Gently my sister patted my back. “What happened little brother? Don’t do something like this that makes me worried.”
“I was just happy that I could see you again,” I answered with full honesty.
“Wait, why did I smell something evil on your body?” My sister’s nose sniffed, as a veteran demon hunter, she knew well.
Should I tell her that I regressed?
My sister looked at me seriously. Her hand started caressing my cheeks before letting me sit beside her. “Why did I smell demons on you? Did you just fight a demon yesterday?”
“Yes?” I lied.
“Clean yourself more…” My sister advised.
I could only give an awkward nod.
“Sister, could we go have breakfast together tomorrow? Before I went to the tournament?” I asked with eyes full of gleaming hope.
“Yes we could. I would pick you up from your room.” My sister answered happily.
“Yeay! See you later sis, Mr Saode told me to run an errand for him!”
I began to stand and ran toward the cafeteria, bought what Mr Saode wanted and gave it back to him. Finally, I could use the training ground now. Come to think of it, I thought Mr Lansah was right…
I should not have made myself exhausted today. So today I thought I would just test my new Dark magic elemental. I raised my left hand and focused, a wisp with a dark colour appeared.
“This meant that I had an element of darkness.”
“Yes, you did.”
I heard the demon queen’s voice.
“It was my power that I bestowed upon you. Look at your status now.”

Whoa!
“See, that I did not lie to make you overpowered?” the demon queen asked.
“Yes…” I replied. “So what was I going to do now?”
“Remember if you used my power, you needed to hunt tonight. Let’s try my power and mix it with your light elementals,” the demon queen ordered.
I raised my right hand and my light wisp appeared. When I tried to combine it, a blinding flash appeared. It turned into something new, a reddish, a bit blackish and greyish coloured energy ball.
“I could feel enormous power from it,” I said to myself.
A new bar appeared in front of me. It was called a hunger bar, right now it was still 25% full. Apparently when I used dark magic and combined it with light magic, they were not consuming my mana, but consuming this new type of mana.

“How did I replenish this bar?” I asked the demon queen who resided inside me.
“Hunting like I said,” the demon queen replied.
“What kind of?”
“Hunting.”
“I was being serious right now…”
“Whatever you craved…”
“But I could feel that you craved something the same as me, you could not wait for your first hunt tonight…”
“What was this?!”
I heard my sister's shocked voice, and a sharp hint of disappointment showed on her face. Quickly I hid my new experiment. I could hear the demon queen laughing hard inside my body.
“Tell me Thomas!”
My sister grabbed my collar, and then her hand tore my clothes. “Just like what I thought… this was the demon queen’s mark… tell me what happened to you!”
Now I was in a dilemma, should I tell my sister that I regressed? Or keep lying about this mark? The demon queen inside my body laughed hard.
“Tell her, about what happens to you in the future,” she suggested.
That was a bad idea, my sister was the same as me. She hated demons so much, just like me. Was she really going to kill me if I was being honest with her?
In the end, I chose to be honest with her.
“Sister, it might have sounded crazy, but it was real for me. I made a pact with the demon queen for me to go back in time.”
