Chapter 12: What was that?

  Creak!

The door slowly opens up as I step into my home.

Sabine Muller, my mother, was in the kitchen cooking.

She turns around to see me.

"Where have you been? It's late!" She said.

"Sorry, I was out with my friends." I replied.

  She scoffed.

"Well set the plates on the table, your sister will coming soon today." She said.

I took off my shoes and headed to the kitchen to grab the plates and utensils.

Carrying three plates on my arms with their forks on top.

I sat them down close to their seats before I sat down on mine.

  Thud! Thud! Thud!

The door knocks before opening to see Laura, my sister.

"It seems you had a good day, you usually always come home with coal covering your whole body." I said.

"Well, we are having a festival in just two days, so most workers are coming home early to prepare for the festival." Laura said.

She took off her boots and went upstairs.

"I wonder if the festival will better than last year, like there was barely any food on the table and it ended horribly too." I said.

"No, that won't happen again, not on my watch." Sabine replied.

"Why? Are you the one who's organizing now?" I replied back.

  "I am!" She said.

  What...

"Weren't YOU the one who's responsible for why we had no meat on the table?!" I said.

  She giggles.

  "Was I?" She replied.

  I sighed.

"Please don't mess this up, I really want to eat some good meat." I replied back.

"What are you two talking about?" Laura suddenly appeared on her seat.

"GEEZ LORD! You almost gave me a heart attack!" I yelled.

  "Oh stop whining." Laura said.

  I bit my lower lip.

Whine? They always say that! Siblings dude.

Sabine turned to us carrying a steamy pot using a cloth.

  "Dinner is ready!" She said.

"Yeah!" I threw my hands up as celebration.

Before I slammed my hands on the wooden table.

  Thud! Thud! Thud!

I banged the table multiple times, excited for the meal.

Sabine sat the pot and I leaned in to see the insides.

The hot steam blocked my vision and couldn't see clearly on what meal it was.

But the smoke gradually disappeared and saw.

  SOUP!? AGAIN!!!

If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

I groaned at the sight of the red and veggie stew.

I laid back at the seat, crossing my arms.

"This is no fun." I said.

"Oh you don't like it? fine then, we won't be having dinner." Sabine took the pot away.

"Wait! I work everyday just to support this house, at least leave me some." Laura said.

"No." Sabine said with no hesitation.

Laura snapped her neck to look at me with her glaring and menacing eyes, telling me that she was going to kill me in my sleep.

"OK OK OK! I'll eat it!" I yelled out.

Sabine smiled and returned the dish back at the table.

"I hope you enjoy it." She said.

I groaned at the sight of it again.

At this point I'm actually going to puke for eating this everyday.

I wish I could order pizza hut.

  Click Click Click

  The clock clicks every second.

The moonlight shines through the window.

And the movement of the fabric of the bed is heard as I change position.

Wind howling outside, hitting the walls and window.

  My eyes burn open.

The entire night, I couldn't stop thinking about that murder scene.

What happened there? Why was the victim had so much blood? Who was that men in black and why would he be a member of the church?

Is this some kind of game? How can be?

I lived in this world for 7 years and there was no sight of magic.

And this wasn't Germany, It's a completely different universe with the Germanic inspiration.

Everytime I try to forget about it, it was like an outside force was making me remember it.

And even then it felt like my head was being drilled into when I try to remember the exact detail.

I looked at the open window, where moonlight shines though.

  I slowly got up.

When my feet contacted the floorboards it creaked!

The cold biting into the skin with it's texture dwelling in.

I dragged my legs to not make as not to make noise.

  Creak! . . . Creak!

Soon I stood front of the window.

The light shining off my body as it rays upon me.

I leaned closer to see the outside.

My fingers touched the glass, the cold burrowing in.

The city lights shine as bright as the stars above.

Each light looking like a star.

I observed all the buildings in sight.

The chimney's still releasing black smoke and the pipe still covering them.

I saw a horse carriage pass through the streets.

This is a really nice view.

The silence relaxed my ears, only replaced with the voices of nature.

I gaze upwards towards the sky.

The clouds and stars mixed nicely with the dark space.

I groaned, my eyes burned and I rubbed against it.

When I finished, I looked back up again to the city.

A large black figure stood tall amongst houses.

  It's eyes complete white.

With a very slim body and seven limbs.

  What the fuck! Is that.

I felt my body turn cold and shiver.

My heart stops alongside with my breath.

I felt my stomach turn like I was going to puke.

  Fuck! It's that feeling again.

I felt my back of the skull was being drilled into.

With my eyes burning like someone bleached it.

Then suddenly that thing looked directly at my eyes.

I gasped and I dropped to the floor.

I laid against the wall as I covered my mouth.

My heart was pounding my chest.

The wind howled louder and picked up pace, slamming against the outside walls like a tornado.

  And then. Gone.

Just like that, the air disappeared, I couldn't hear it.

I removed my hands from my mouth before slowly getting up.

I peeked through the window to see that thing again.

  And saw nothing.

Like it left before I knew it.

I fully stood up, and observed deeper.

Was I hallucinating? Did that thing come from the fact that I couldn't sleep today?

  No it can't be right?

Am I going crazy? I can't even distinguish reality from fakes.

  Ah! It hurts.

I felt that sharp drilling pain again on my skull now it's like it's inside of it. In my brain.

Before quickly disappearing just like the that thing.

I scratched and grinded on my skull.

  Before I stopped and looked.

That thing was standing right up top of that house.

I squeezed my eyes to see better.

  To see that house.

  Where the murder scene unfolded.
