Chapter 48: Still Holding Back?

  Infinite cosmos.

Two powers collided. Again. Again. Each shockwave—planets reduced to dust.

"Impressive! You've mastered this power thoroughly!"

Beerus' fist met Perilla's. He grinned.

"Of course. I broke through step by step. Through training. Natural mastery."

Perilla kicked at his chin. Beerus tilted his head. Dodged. Spun. Kicked her abdomen.

She crossed her arms. Blocked. Pain shot through her forearms.

Beerus' other leg swept her away. She flew back.

"By the way—did Chronoa teach you any divine techniques?"

"No. She told me to master divine Ki first."

Beerus stroked his chin. "Makes sense. You've only just grasped divine power. And Chronoa's techniques—the hardest to learn. The strongest. I won't use divine techniques against you."

  "Thank you, Lord Beerus!"

Perilla used Instant Transmission. Appeared behind him. Surprise attack.

Beerus sensed it. Can't use Instant Transmission myself. But as God of Destruction—no threat. His tail wrapped around her fist.

  Flung her away.

She stabilized. Beerus vanished. She spun. Threw a punch—divine Ki concentrated.

  BOOM.

Their fists collided. The shockwave—distant galaxies blinked out.

  Spaceship.

Everyone froze. Watched starlight vanish. Each point—a star. Some larger than the Sun.

  "Why are distant galaxies disappearing?!"

Whis—now aboard—licked his ice cream. "Near them, their energy waves cancel out. But as the shockwaves travel farther, universal expansion prevents cancellation. Destruction intensifies."

Krillin swallowed. "At this rate, the entire galaxy will—"

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

"Don't worry. Three more punches, and the entire universe will be obliterated."

Whis stated it casually. Everyone panicked.

  "We have to stop them!"

But how? Even if Goku and Vegeta fused, they can't survive in a vacuum.

Whis smiled. "Relax. Someone will stop them. She's here now."

Perilla and Beerus' fists collided again.

A small figure appeared between them. Orange bob cut. Pink skin. Childlike.

She raised one finger. An invisible barrier separated them.

Perilla's expression shifted. "Lord Chronoa?! Why are you here?"

  Beerus blinked. "Chronoa?"

The Supreme Kai of Time chopped Perilla's head. Hard.

Even in Super Saiyan God form—pain.

Perilla clutched the bump. "Ow ow ow! Master, why so hard?!"

"You're asking why?! Were you planning to dismantle this timeline's universe?! Look how many star systems you've destroyed!"

Perilla snapped back to reality. I got carried away. Saiyan battle instinct took over.

  "I'm really sorry, Master."

  Beerus tried to sneak away.

"Lord Beerus, you too! You're a veteran god! Why are you acting reckless?! Yes, destruction is your job—but if Universe 7 disappears, you'll be punished too!"

Chronoa's hands on her hips. Beerus looked sheepish. Just woke up. Got too excited.

"If you hadn't come, I could've erased the shockwave's effects—"

"But planets are already gone from your battle!"

Beerus had no rebuttal. She's right.

  Spaceship.

The group stared. She's scolding both of them?!

And she blocked a God of Destruction and Super Saiyan God with one finger!

Whis explained. "That little girl is the legendary guardian of the multiverse—Supreme Kai of Time, Chronoa."

"Supreme Kai of Time? Supreme Kais can be this strong?!"

Goku gaped. The Supreme Kais we met—even Old Kai with his magic—weren't combat powerhouses.

This one rewrites everything we thought about Supreme Kais.

Chronoa sensed Whis. Teleported herself, Perilla, and Beerus to the ship.

"Lord Whis, you too! You're Beerus' guardian and teacher! Why didn't you watch him?!"

"Haha, I was about to intervene. But you arrived. So I didn't act."

Goku's eyes widened. "You're Lord Beerus' teacher?! Are you stronger than him?!"

"A bit. Just a tiny bit."

More like a LOT. Perilla thought.

Chronoa's gaze locked onto her. Not friendly.

"Perilla. Do you understand your mistake? Your presence disrupted this timeline's natural development."

"Master, you can't blame me! I got dragged here! Ask Lord Beerus—"

Perilla threw Beerus under the bus. He coughed. "Ahem. She's a deity. Crossing spacetime isn't illegal for gods. So... yeah."

He's not even looking at her.

Chronoa almost unleashed her time powers. Restrained herself.

"Master, don't be mad! I'm sorry!"

Perilla's cute, pleading expression melted Chronoa's anger. She raised her hand. Reversed time. Restored the destroyed star systems.

"Amazing! The galaxies are back! Supreme Kais can do that?!"

Goku pressed against the window. Awestruck.

"Alright, Perilla. We're going back. I'll properly educate you."

  "Yes, Master..."

  I'm in for it.

"Ahem, Chronoa. You can't just take her. I've been searching for Super Saiyan God for ages—"

"You can fight another Super Saiyan God. Like Son Goku over there."

Goku—munching popcorn—froze. But I'm not Super Saiyan God!

"Actually, Super Saiyan God can be achieved through methods other than training—"

"Master, wait! Let me finish fighting Lord Beerus! I haven't used my full power yet. Not going all out feels... unbearable."

Like ants crawling under my skin.

Everyone stared. She's still holding back?!

  What trump card?!
