February 20th, 1919

It has indeed been looking up for us a lot more than what has been happening lately. I can tell that Lawrence is still down from William's death. I am not sure how to cheer him up. He is always trying to cheer me up. Why don't I know how to help him how he helps me?

"Cheer up, Lawrence," I muttered as I went past him.

He began laughing, which was nice, "What did you just tell me?"

  "Cheer up," I replied.

He only laughed harder, "You're a really funny guy, you know that? You say cheer up, and you're the most depressed person I believe I ever met. Take your own advice."

"Well, I don't want you to be sad," I informed him.

"I suppose I appreciate the sentiment. What's going on here? I haven't been in the best of moods, so I don't really know," Lawrence told me.

"Angelo has been making coats from when we went hunting yesterday. We now can pick. Some of them are thicker than others, so I suppose that's nice. Isn't it?" I questioned.

He nodded, "It's better than nothing. I can still feel the cold, but it's nowhere near as bad. Do I believe we are going to make it? No."

I sighed and closed my eyes. I might be the one saying we are doomed, but I need Lawrence to cheer up. I want him to. I need that. I will find a way for him to be happy again.
