Chapter 55- Lone Wolf / The Hawk

  It's morning, early morning.

The sun is about to rise and a cloaked man sits on a hill, facing the ocean.

His breath turns to fog as it comes out of his mouth.

As the sun rises over the water, the light beams into his dark glasses.

He stands up and walks away, rising sun against his back.

He walks into Elaria, beginning his patrol for the day.

He enters a tower, climbing up a ladder and onto the top of the huge city walls.

He'd just returned but already feels at home.

There's a heavy weight on his shoulders.

  One of guilt.

He'd told Cyrus that the Knights would be understaffed that day.

He was the reason Warren died.

He'd been given so many opportunities to end the entire rebellion, and he very well could have at any time.

  But he didn't.

  Why?

  He has absolutely no idea.

  Stolen story; please report.

Whether it was hope to see some sort of change in the system or just because he'd grown attached, the feeling of guilt was still the same.

He detects a sudden disturbance in the air, not like that of someone running, but growing.

He instantly freezes the spot, stopping the disturbance before superheating it and melting the ice, along with the disturbance.

He continues doing laps along the wall, weeding everything out that he noticed.

The entire city was under his supervision, other than the Upper Ward, there's enough security there for him to not have coverage.

Meanwhile, Magnus sits in front of the throne room where King Ari sits.

Like a hawk, he sits, waiting for something that demands his interference.

Just then, a small group of men, posing as visitors for the king to get past the rest of the Kingsguard, draw their weapons.

Magnus is the city's best kept secret, his power and true position only known to the top ranks in the world.

His rumored position is King Ari's Top Advisor, an easy lie to uphold.

Shocked at his presence, one of the men, who's bald, activates their Aspect, immediately sending nausea throughout Magnus' entire body.

Struggling to stay standing, he shoves his hands out in front of him, repelling all four men at once.

One of the man creates transparent armor out of his Aura, an interesting Aspect.

The man jumps at him, predictable.

Magnus, nausea wearing off, looks up at him, sending a bullet of dense air through the man's head, splattering blood and fragments of both skull and brain across the wall.

The other three men stand there, now petrified.

  Magnus chuckles.

"Sucks you guys had to get this far."

"I haven't seen real action in a while."

"And you're not meant to know about me."

Another man from the group holds his hands toward the dead body of his ally, behind Magnus.

The bones in his body splinter, floating into the air.

The bones, now small spears, dart toward Magnus' back.

He gets down, immediately hitting the ground.

The bone spears then fly into the group of men, killing all of the survivors.

Magnus lifts up each body with a constant gust of wind before effectively blending each body with blades of air.

Now effectively a smoothie, he guides the remains through a window, dropping it into the area next to the Palace.

  Magnus sighs.

  "Still no real action."
