Chapter 11 - Fake Heiress
...
"Sure!"
Linda readily agreed, not wanting to waste anytime. As she was transferring the amount, she mistakenly added a few more zeroes at the end and sent it immediately out of excitement.
Not realising the impact her little mistake could have on her poor companion. Her desired hundred million ended up becoming...
A shiver went down Helen's spine, and she began to sweat heavily despite the air conditioning working in her car as her eyes fell upon the transfer notification on her phone.

'O-One billion?? Is there no end to this rich dy's wealth?! But what was such a rich girl doing here at the local club? Experiencing life? It surely didn't look that way!'
'And, why is she trusting me so much? What if I just pushed her under a truck to die somewhere without transferring her the amount? Is she not afraid of the consequences? No, she must believe in her family's power a lot more than my possible betrayal. Still, her approach to all of this was very naive for a dy from a wealthy family. Good thing that I still have my sanity intact after seeing all this wealth, otherwise if I had caused her any harm...'
'Rather than thinking about the negatives, why not focus on the positives? Isn't this right here an extremely rare opportunity to climb the ranks into wealth for me? If... I am able to win over this rich beauty tonight... won't I be able to gain her unconditional support? Yes! That's the right way to think. I must not let this golden egg-ying hen out of my grasp. I must hold onto this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity at all costs!'
The two women, both with their calcutions, kept eyeing each other as the car stopped after arriving at the high-end hotel.
...
The two women didn't start 'mat-wrestling' as soon as they arrived; they went over to have some good food first. Having drunk quite a bit of wine from before, they ate modestly and tried to sober up a bit before calling for the bill. Linda didn't let even this chance to spend free money as she insisted on paying for it, leaving the already numbed Helen to keep staring at her lively back profile.
Even when Linda booked the most expensive presidential suite for the night, Helen turned a blind eye to it, thinking up ways to win over Linda's heart. She had a lot of experience with girls, but none with such substantial financial power.
She licked her lips as the two of them took the elevator to reach the top floor in no time. It was Helen's first time staying in a presidential suite, too, so she felt a bit overwhelmed by the btant dispy of luxury. She wasn't one to squander her money, even when she made a lot of it every year.
Entering the room, Linda stared in amazement, feeling complex emotions when recalling her past life residence and comparing it with the present suite.
Meanwhile, Helen broke out of her thoughts and headed straight for a bath, determined to swallow the big fish whole.
As Linda thought about how she now had millions in her bank account, she giggled with happiness as she bounced around the bed. Her mind rushed with thoughts of what to spend on and what to do, especially since she had a little daughter to spoil endlessly.
She was also thankful that the membership card held the same amount of money as her account, not needing her to make separate expenses on such things anymore. Otherwise, she might have felt too reluctant to spend her wealth on expensive outings. Since the money credited to the membership card could only be spent, she felt less hesitant to use it.
As for the inital spendings, Linda thought to support the elderly of her family. With an amount as big as a hundred million, Linda felt very capable of doing the right things, and most of all, to be a good mother to her little girl, Diane.
No matter how little time spent with her, Linda absolutely adored her dear daughter, gushing over with maternal love towards her newly gained child. She truly wished to bring her a good life and to protect her from all difficulties. Worried that her tough childhood may end up leaving a shadow in her heart, Linda wished to overwrite all her grief with happiness, even if she may end up growing up in a single-parent household.
As for finding a new father for her daughter, Linda wasn't interested in it at all. She would rather die than mingle with a guy! A fine dy, though, she didn't mind.
Pondering on other ways of using the money, she didn't let her sense of wealth be corruppted with the suddenly gained wealth. She had too many responsibilities to act recklessly. Quickly adjusting her mindset, Linda thought to herself,
'I would need to act normal for a while, but not too frugal either. If I show my true wealth to my parents-in-w, they would be too shocked. Rather, nobody around me might believe that I actually have that much wealth. And what do I do if they ask me to expin my source of income? Rather, how do rich people live anyway? I only know a few things from the movies, but when it's actually happening, I ain't got a clue what to do!'
'Let's take my time... at least a few days to think all that properly before I start introducing the changes. And being low-key would be important. If too many people know about my wealth, I would end up being targeted. And if something happens to Diane... no, I need to have the power to protect my family and defend my assets.'
'As for my job... let's use some profession to expin that. It would be useful for Diane's school enrollment as well. Wouldn't my daughter be proud of her mommy that way? Yup, I want her to be proud of her hard-working, smart, cool, and capable mother! If not, then how would she introduce me to her friends when they ask my profession? Someone who dabbles in the stock market? That excuse won't work too far!'
