Rynn woke up with a start, the soft warmth of fur on either side of him. He gnced down to see Mira nestled against his left, her auburn tail twitching slightly in her sleep, and B.M.A. on his right, her expression serene even in slumber. A wry smile touched his lips. Expining this cozy scene to his mother, with her penchant for dramatic interpretations involving deflowerings and forced marriages, was a risk he wasn't willing to take. Ignoring it entirely was equally perilous. With practiced stealth, Rynn carefully disentangled himself from the sleeping girls and crept out of the room.
As he moved silently down the hallway, he could hear the muffled sounds of the morning news emanating from one of the other rooms. He paused near the slightly ajar door, catching snippets of the broadcast. “…gyrds discovered the deceased body of Prince Thadeus of the Catkin country, sparking immediate and severe tensions. Sources indicate that Meowdon has officially decred war on the Ratkin nation…” Rynn smirked. Petty squabbles among his extended family were always entertaining.
The next news segment caught his attention. “…reports are flooding in regarding bizarre portal activity. Individuals, described as ‘humans in fursuits,’ are appearing and forcibly capturing pedestrian beastkins off the streets. These captured individuals are then being forced to engage in gdiatorial combat. Thankfully, the Invader Guild, under the direct command of Gaxy Emperor Xyra Drakov, swiftly intervened, putting an end to the rampaging ‘furries,’ as they are apparently called. Emperor Drakov herself addressed the popuce, expining the situation and menting the fact that some of these invaders managed to escape with their beastkin captives trapped within strange talismans. She warned that these ‘furries’ now know their methods work and will likely return to random locations, urging everyone to remain vigint as she cannot be everywhere at all times and they should be prepared.”
Rynn just smirked, a low chuckle rumbling in his chest. His grandparents were actually going to war? Over something so… mundane. He shrugged, completely unconcerned, and continued to get dressed in a fresh set of his signature bck uniform.
He found Mira already awake and pyfully cuddling up against a still-sleepy B.M.A. "Morning, Rynn!" she chirped, her amber eyes bright. "Can you believe that news about the furless aliens? It's totally insane!"
"Just another Tuesday," Rynn replied with a nonchant shrug as they headed out towards Ebonvale Academy, B.M.A. silently trailing behind them.
Their walk to the academy was initially uneventful, but as they rounded a corner, their party had a sudden, jarring encounter. A group of three figures in crudely made, oversized fursuits materialized seemingly out of thin air. One of them, wielding a glowing talisman, pointed it at the ground. A swirling vortex of fire erupted, and a monstrous, humanoid figure wreathed in fmes, clearly a beastkinoid of some kind, cwed its way out. "Attack them, in human!" the fursuiter shrieked in heavily accented Gactic Common.
Before the beastkinoid could even fully rise, Rynn moved. He blitzed forward with blinding speed, appearing in front of the fming creature in the blink of an eye. With a swift, brutal motion, he ripped its head clean off its shoulders. The beastkinoid instantly dissolved into a cloud of fiery vapor that swirled back into the talisman. Without missing a beat, Rynn activated his Thunder Body, electricity crackling across his skin, and lunged at the fursuiter who had summoned the creature. The fursuiter screamed as thousands of volts surged through their body, dropping them instantly. Rynn picked up the discarded talisman. Its surface pulsed with trapped energy, and he could sense the faint presence of countless inhabitants within.
The rest of their journey to Ebonvale Academy was thankfully free of further interdimensional encounters. Rynn, still radiating crackling blue energy from his Thunder Body, walked into the academy with a theatrical fir. He spotted a group of students huddled together, whispering about the news. With a mischievous grin, Rynn approached one of them and offered a handshake. The unsuspecting student yelped as a jolt of electricity coursed through their body, causing the other students to erupt in ughter. Soon, a spontaneous contest broke out: who could shake Rynn’s hand the longest without flinching?
Even Aelor, ever the stoic and rule-abiding Deerkin, approached Rynn. Surprisingly, instead of reprimanding him, Aelor extended his hand and joined in the fun, his stoic expression unwavering even as sparks flew. To everyone's astonishment, Aelor actually sted the longest, his grip surprisingly firm.
Teris, observing the chaotic scene with an amused smile, finally stepped forward. He pced a hand on Sylvia’s shoulder and gently guided her towards Rynn. "I believe Sylvia can put an end to this electrifying dispy," he said. "Her Druid/Amplifier css allows her to absorb electrical energy." Sylvia, with a small smile, reached out and took Rynn’s hand. The crackling energy visibly flowed into her, dissipating harmlessly. Rynn frowned, a flicker of annoyance crossing his face at this unexpected ability. He looked at Teris with newfound interest. "Well, well, the perceptive kitty," Rynn mused, a new light in his sapphire eyes. Teris pushed up his gsses, a faint blush on his cheeks. "Stop being meownt, Rynn," he retorted pyfully. Rynn gasped dramatically. "Me? The most meowsean of them all? Never, Mr. Bck Cat!"
Just then, a shimmering portal ripped open in the middle of the hallway. A human female cd in a poorly made rabbit fursuit stumbled out, looking around in confusion. Her eyes nded on Rynn, still glowing faintly with residual electricity. With a shout of "Gotcha!", she hurled a glowing talisman directly at him. The talisman struck Rynn and enveloped him in a blinding fsh of light, capturing him instantly. As the fursuiter rushed forward to pick up the talisman, a sudden surge of energy erupted from it, and with a surprised yelp, she was sucked into the glowing artifact as well.
Inside the talisman, a protective barrier of pure energy instantly encased Rynn. A voice, ancient and powerful, echoed in his mind, expining the failsafe mechanism inherent in Monbeasticore Talismans: anyone attempting to capture the controller of such a talisman would be forced to face them in a battle for ownership. Sadly for the fursuiter, this meant Rynn now had to fight her collection of Monbeasticores until she had none left.
What seemed like mere minutes to the bewildered beastkin students and faculty of Ebonvale Academy stretched into over five grueling days for Rynn within the pocket dimension of the talisman. He brutalized wave after wave of the fursuiter’s bizarre and often pathetic Monbeasticores, his power and ruthlessness unmatched. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he stood victorious, the st of the captured creatures vanquished. Leaving the now-inert talisman that had held him captive, Rynn picked up the discarded talisman that had belonged to the fursuiter. With a thought, he summoned his first "furless alien fursuiter," a dazed and confused human woman still wearing her rabbit costume. A cruel smirk touched his lips. "Your new name," he decred, his voice dripping with amusement, "is Pything."
