As Iko looked at her new status screen, she noticed that there was a new stat, [Corruption level] and she now knew it was low, knowing that now was useful, but knowing that her skills drained her technically to half die, she would be happier is she knew this before, she decided to not fight with an omnipresent being, that being the system, and instead just check her new abilities.

  As Iko saw this skills, she decided to ignore the new sub-skill because she wanted to do magic, and do it now, so she lifted her arm and pointed to a random tree and whispered the name of the spell she was given.

  “Thunder Bolt”

  And nothing happened instead of a system notification breaking her hope of using magic.

  As Iko was mad that she wouldn’t be able to use magic, she saw Rainari in her shoulder opening it’s mouth, and then she could feel the thunder mana inside Rainari, for then the tree get obliterated by the little bird’s thunder bolt.

  “Oh c’mon! This isn’t fair! Why can this bird use magic but I can’t!”

  When Iko referred to Rainari as “Bird” Rainari looked over the her side and started pecking her face, not really damaging Iko but it was annoying.

  “Ok, ok, I’m sorry I called you only a “bird” ok? Sorry Rainari, but please stop that!”

  When Rainari heard her called it by it’s name, it stopped attacking her and instead it flew over to her head and started sleeping in her head, Iko sighed and started looking at the other skill in hopes she get’s something helpful or she is just going to get tricked again.

  Iko didn’t know if she wanted to cry or laugh at the description, she could technically use magic, just not hers, so she was happy but not enough, but to try out, what better way to do it than to annoy the bird in her head!

  “Heeey! Rainari! Can you do the thunder bolt once more? I want to try something”

  Rainari who had just woken up looked at Iko and decided to do as she asked but it would attack her, so with it’s mouth open, it throwed a thunder bolt over to her hoping to finish with it, but Iko just looked at the thunder bolt, who suddenly looked slow just for her, and it halted a stop in it’s tracks, just centimeters from her face.

  “… WHY DID YOU GO FOR MY FACE! CRAZY!” Iko was screaming at Rainari while the magic was frozen in place, when she ended her screaming she looked over at the thunder bolt, and if her fantasies were something to believe, her eye should be glowing blue right now, but after Iko looked at the bolt, it turned black, and she could feel a faint sense of Corruption on it, she then commanded it to attack a tree next to the one Rainari attacked, Rainari just destroyed it but when her bolt crashed it exploded in corruption, corrupting what was left of the tree, being just a few leaves and the base of it, and everything 2m radius away from it.

  Both Rainari and Iko stared at the ex-tree and stayed there blinking, until a roar sounded in the distance, and then she remembered she had to kill Corrupted beings to go back to full shape, so she jumped over to the sound, finding like a chicken, but bigger, and no feathers, instead it had scales and a tail, not even wings, but some tiny arms instead, it would be kinda funny if It wasn’t 10 times the size of Iko, and it had blood covering it mouth, with the arms of the now ex-beast in between it’s teeth.

  [Tyrannosaurus Rex, Level 30]

  Before the beast could do something, Iko used her [Dragon Roar] concentrating on everything of it on the beast, she then, jumped over to the beast, even with her full strength she could only jump half of it’s size, sadly the beast didn’t had corruption on it, but that would change, she used her [Corrupted Touch] on her tail, not to use the needle as a sword, but as it’s supposed to be used, she first used her claw to move one of it’s scales out the way and injected her tail in the spot without a scale, it felt weird since she could feel anything her tail felt, and feeling it’s muscles wasn’t something pleasant, but either way, she injected her blood inside, and the jumped back.

  She wondered by the beast didn’t do anything to stop her, but as she looked over to the beast face she saw Rainari raining Thunder Bolts on the beast face, Iko was thankful for it and decided to go help, she knew sooner or later the beast should become either a grey monster of a corrupted monster, she just had to wait, so while she clawed her way through the outer body of the beast, Rainari was raining down thunderbolts from above.

  Somewhere between the exchange of blows, the beast noticed that trying to hunt Rainari down from the sky was impossible so instead it started going for Iko, but maybe cause it was huge Iko could dodge almost all attack and the ones she couldn’t dodge regenerated a few seconds after, sadly that one scale she took out at the start apparently was the only weak one, and none of the others would cut open, not with her normal claw, but using more [Corrupted Touch] wouldn’t be good for her safety

  Finally after what felt like days, the beast showed signs of corruption on its eyes, the 3 of them were tired, Rainari was almost out of mana, which Iko had none since she used Corruption, Iko was running low on Corruption and the beast looked like it was about to fall over, then it’s name and aura changed.

  Iko felt the same energy she felt when she was trapped inside her soul, the amount of hate she felt now was less than the one of that moment, but it was there, if it wasn’t because the Corruption was devouring the aura around her, she may have gone crazy, then she remembered Rainari and turned to look at it, then she saw it eating the aura, yeah, the aura.

  Guess they do justice to their names huh?

  When she turned to the beast, she saw infinite hatred in its eyes. She just blinked and the beast tail was centimeters from her face, in a desperate attempt, she opened her wings and few upwards, barely escaping the beast tail, then she saw another system panel opening Infront of her.

  Do they gift these now or something?

  Iko didn’t know if crying or laughing would be better, after all, it was a third quest.

  Emilia was mad with her father, she was already at level 35, the perfect level for the new tower, but her dad keeps saying “it’s too dangerous” and “we know nothing about the tower” even going as far as to lock her up in her room, if she wasn’t the daughter of the greatest general on her empire, she would understand, but her dad literally had teached her the art of the sword, she had practiced with monster multiple times, and she even fought humans already!, the bandits that sometimes appeared around the city, there was no reason for her to not be able to go and enter, today she would try again.

  As Emilia walked over to her dad’s office, she saw all the guards on the windows and doors, she didn’t know if they were there to stop her from leaving or because of the upcoming war with the kingdom of Rolk.

  When she entered her dad’s office, she saw him filling in some documents and just as she was about to ask him if she could leave, her uncle, the captain of the royal guard, stormed in shouting.

  “Brother! You must see this! The king has ordered that every knight or mage noble family must send one of their children over to the tower!”

  “WHAT?!” screamed her dad, but Emilia wasn’t paying attention to his screams, she was thinking that this was the best moment to ask to go to the tower.

  “Dear father… I was thinking-“ started saying Emilia.

  “No Emilia, you are not going” said her dad almost instantly.

  “But why?!” screamed Emilia

  “As I said before, we know nothing about this supposed “tower of origin” so no you can’t go”

  As they started fighting about that, her uncle interrupted with a letter with the royal family mark.

  “Even if your father wanted to send you to the tower, you couldn’t” he then looked over at her dad “The king has ordered to send Emilia to the border of the forbidden land of the dragons to investigate some mysterious disappearances that have been happening over there”

  “HE SAID WHAT?!” Screamed her dad.

  “Ok, if I’m able to leave this prison of a house I’ll go” said Emilia while smirking over to her dad annoyed face.

  “1 month” said her father “if you don’t come back in 1 month, I’m sending the entire military to bring you back and you’re never leaving this house again until you are 25”

  “Ok” said Emilia smirking as she run down to the armory, got her 2 swords and armor, and started her journey to the forbidden land of the dragons.

  When Emilia was finally near the border, she decided to take a rest, after all she had been running the last 30 minutes, if it wasn’t because of the teleporter to the city near to the border, Fering, she would have had to run more than 12 hours, so she was more than grateful to the lord of the city for allowing the teleport.

  After 10 minutes resting, she continued her journey to the top of the mountain where she would then enter the forbidden land, she was kinda excited since it would be her first time in one of the 10 forbidden zones, so when she finally got to the gate, she was amazed by the amount of nature there was, it was probably cause this was the domain of the nature dragons, but either way, it was beautiful, just when she entered the domain, she felt a sense of dread all around her, when she looked behind her there was a man there, he was wearing a white lab coat and some glasses, he didn’t look happy or sad, not even mad, he didn’t look like having emotions, just when she was about to talk to him, she felt something in her neck, the man had hit her in the back of her neck, the man had moved at unhuman speeds even for [System] users like herself, while she lose consciousness she heard him say something she didn’t quite like.

  “The daughter of the Ironhearth general, she must have some good genetics, will do for a fine test subject"
