“So, we have one day left together, but you want the two of us to raid this dungeon to receive a skill orb?” Aria asked me when we were outside of a dungeon.

  It was called the Volcanic Cave, and it has a chance to drop a skill orb for fire resistance. If I use this skill, I will be able to make fire resistance items for Aria and Anthem.

  It's kind of counter intuitive, since they have to get the skill orb for me, but I made this pn, and we are sticking to it.

  “Yep, and once you get the skill orb, then we can hang out the rest of the day” I told both of them.

  I dragged them both here to get the best chance and getting the skill orb.

  “Ok, ok. We will go get the skill, and you wait here” Anthem says, and pulls Aria away to head into the dungeon.

  BAsed on estimates, it's about a 5% chance to get the skill at regur levels of luck, but this dungeon was graded for a level 400ish hunter, and Aria and Anthem have luck way higher than a level 400 hunter.

  “Ugg, this is going to be annoying” Aira said, as she leaves for the dungeon.

  As they head into the dungeon, I sit down at a cafe nearby and start to read a book to pass the time.

  And I wait for them to finish up the dungeon.

  Aria and Anthem had decided to go through the dungeon alone, to get the best chance at getting the skill orb.

  They also decided to turn it into a competition to see who can get the skill orb first.

  Both of them could clear this dungeon in a matter of minutes, as long as they knew where they were going.

  But the initial edge goes to Aria since she is much faster. The problem is that she is prone to getting lost inside of unfamiliar dungeons, and they hadn’t been in this one for a really long time. So the two of them were about equal in their ability to get through the dungeon.

  The monsters were literal fodder to the two of them as well, since they were a much higher level then anything in this dungeon.

  Samanders, fire goblins, bze orcs, all fall in a single hit to them. Hell they are beyond overkill.

  THe final boss of the dungeon was a lesser fire dragon, and it would also go down to a single attack.

  It takes them both about 10 minutes to clear the whole 7 floor dungeon since they are so fast.

  But on their first run through, neither of them get the skill orb.

  So they start again.

  It ends up taking them over an hour to get the skill orb, but eventually, Aria gets lucky and finds one.

  Skill Orb - Fire Resistance Lv.1 - provides a 10% resistance to fire damage

  “Hey, Is that you Zenith” a girls voice said from behind me. Puting my book down to see who it is, I find Jessica from the dungeon investigation team.

  “Hi Jessica, what are you doing here?” I ask her.

  “Oh, my apartment is around here. I come to this dungeon often” she tells me. “What are you doing here?”

  “Oh, my brother and sister are helping me with a dungeon thing around here, so I am waiting for them to finish up” I tell her.

  “I didn’t know you had siblings. Are they strong hunters?”

  “Ha… yeah. They are both S rank. I asked them for help getting a specific skill, so they are clearing the volcanic cave for fire resistance for me”

  “Why don’t you just wait until you can get the skill yourself?”

  “My intrinsic skill is a production type, and the other skills I have are involved in it. And I need to be able to make fire resistant equipment for a specific reason” I told her.

  “Oh, your skill seems interesting. What can you do with it?” she asked.

  “It allows me to creat items from nothing. When I got it to level 2, it allowed me to add special qualities to the items, like a fire sword, or a ring that grants strength boost. I’m guessing that if I get fire resistance, I can make armor that does the same” I expin to her.

  “Really, I didn’t expect you to have such a support oriented skill. I always assumed it was combat reted”

  “No, I just spent a really long time getting better at combat. I have the weapon mastery skill at level 3” I tell her.

  “Really?” She said. “Could you help the rest of us get better at combat?” She asked.

  “Um, what?” I said.

  “We all have support abilities, and are pretty weak. So if you could help us get stronger, we could take on more jobs” She told me.

  “Um, sure, why not.” I say, agreeing. I kind of wanted to spend more time with them, since I thought of them as friends. “Ill give you my number, so you can call me if you find a good day to work on it”

  “Great” She said.

  But before anything else happened, some one called out to Jessica.

  “Hey, Jessica, is that you?” some blond guy siad, walking over to both of us.

  “Shit” Jessica said under her breath. “Hey Justin”.

  “Who is this?” he said, pointing at me.

  “This is Zenith. He is a new member of our investigation group” she told him. “He is your repcement, and we are friends”

  “Oh, so, you a newbie adventurer?” he asked me.

  “Uh, yep. Joined a few months ago” I told him. I didn’t like this guy. He reminded me of some people I went to school with in the past.

  “Well, it was good seeing you Jessica. And you, Zenith, you'll probably be able to move past those guys soon enough. But who knows” He said, being a dick to Micheal and Ryan.

  ‘What is that supposed to mean?” I asked him.

  “We all know what type of people work for the assation. Those who can’t join guilds” He said in a condescending tone.

  “What…” I said with a small chuckle. Not only did I work for the assation, but so did Aria, Anthem, Gideon, and my parents. His comment made me want to punch him.

  “Ha, looks like you can’t stand up for yourself either.” He said, still being condescending.

  “Oh, fuck you” I said under my breath. But I bite my tongue. “No, I just think you are wrong.”

  “Really, I am a member of the star knights, a very exclusive guild. They only recruit people who they think can reach A rank within 3 years” That was the normal time period for reaching the higher ranks.

  “Oh, cool” I said, knowing that I want to very much outpace his goal.

  “Pff, probably some D rank loser” He said with anger. “I am level 75, I could kick your ass”

  And holding my tongue completely fails. “HAHAHAH” I broke up ughing. “75… I am literally twice your level”

  “You lying piece of shit” He said, grabbing at me.

  And then he got smmed into the table, and the cafe was made completely silent by the commotion.

  “Hey, fucker. Maybe think before you try to hurt my brother” Aria said, holding his head down on the table, and coming out of nowhere.
