A Simple Task

Darren walked through the hallway of the castle. His steady steps brought him closer to his father's working room. His father had called for his presence.

The afternoon sun basked the castle in it's golden rays of light. Darren had just finished his lunch, and his eyes starts to feel heavy. It would be great to take a nap, he thought to himself.

After spending a little time walking he finally reached the front of his father's office. He pushed the giant door made out of blackwood and peeked inside.

When he entered, the smell of fresh ink filled his nose.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

"Father, I have come". Darren said, announcing his arrival.

At the end of the room was a desk, filled with stacks of paper. Sitting behind that desk was a middle-aged man, burying himself into the paperwork in front of him.

"Hmm," The man nodded and raised his head. "Sit."

Darren sat himself. "So father, is there something you need of me?"

"I am," his father said. He moved his hand through the papers and pulled a scroll. He then opened it, revealing it's content wich is a map of the duchy.

He pointed his finger into the map. "I want you to go to here. There has been rumors about a potential gold mine there."

Darren looked closely at the place his father is ponting. It was inside the Groan region.

"There's a village called Lutrin. Apparently there's a cave nearby. Some people said that cave has gold inside."

Darren nodded. "So, you want me to confirm it? But can't you just send Terein to do that?"
