Chapter 12: Retake

  Chapter Twelve: Re-examination

Korristin's voice rose in succession, a pair of beautiful eyes that surpassed sapphires blinked with disbelieving gaze. Kenji's actual combat ability was beyond doubt, but if it came to brute strength, Rudie, the third-year student, would make many second-year warriors bow their heads in defeat. Kenji might still win against Rudie with both hands tied behind his back, but one-on-one, he would undoubtedly lose without a doubt.

Rolin looked at Coristine's disbelieving expression, feeling even more pleased with himself. His plump body stood up straight, his nostrils slightly raised, and he put his hands on his hips, saying with a grin: "Of course! Who else could it be besides the mighty Rudy? And not just once, but three times in a row! That's no fluke! How about that, impressive?"

Korristin's beautiful eyes flashed with an unusual light, drifting to the corner of her eye, staring at the dry and stern dormitory brow, raising her hand to support her chin: "Brute force surpasses Rudy? Has he been hiding his true strength all along? If that's really the case, I'm afraid he won't be interested in the substitute spot for the Four Seas Hero's Assembly... or is he just pretending, trying to lull everyone into a smoke screen..."

"The hat must be hidden well, it must be hidden! If all the strange things that happened to my body today came from this hat, then even if I couldn't find the treasure map's secret treasure, the 'Dough Technique Scripture', there might still be a huge chance for change."

Qianjin lay under the bed, using a few strips of torn sheets to tie his hat firmly under the bed board. He crawled out from under the bed, made it neatly and tidied up thoroughly, making sure nothing looked unusual. After dusting himself off, he quickly walked out of the room.

The temper of warriors is mostly biased towards being hot-headed and straightforward, and Mr. Rodriguez is a typical warrior temperament. Dryness doesn't want to make the teacher wait too long and get punished, which would delay his own research time to get the hat.

The crowd in the corridor had not yet dispersed, and Qian Jin raised his head to look at Coristine, who was still standing not far away without leaving. He found that this class flower's face gathered more doubts, and her eyebrows were filled with a strong challenging atmosphere.

  "Really? Another challenge?"

He let out a strange cry and quickly walked past Coristine's side, staring at the road under his feet.

"Qian Jin!" Corris stared at Qian Jin's back and suddenly asked loudly again, "You really have no interest in the substitute quota for the Four Seas Hero Gathering?"

"Not interested!" Qian Jin swung his arms vigorously, quickening his pace by several degrees, muttering to himself: "With my current strength, even if I get a substitute spot, it'll just be a humiliating defeat. What's the point of that? Substitute? I'd rather not! I want to do it right, as a regular!"

Was it really okay? Coristine had never been proud of her extraordinary hearing, but at this moment, she faintly heard the low murmur from Qianjin's mouth and doubted for the first time if there was something wrong with her own hearing. A freshman actually dared to have such a big tone? To do it right, that's the privilege of second-year and third-year warriors and mages who can compete for the quota. However, judging from his tone, he seemed to be very familiar with the Four Seas Hero Association.

With a resolute heart thinking about the hat incident, he walked faster than usual and made his way to the dormitory of the Warrior Department's teacher.

Rodriguez's doorplate was quickly found, and Qianjin stepped forward to stabilize his emotions. The last time he tried out, the result of being knocked unconscious by a hat was really embarrassing for a warrior student who could dodge.

The door creaked softly as it was knocked on, and a slightly rough but generous voice came from inside: "Come in."

Dryly recognizing the voice as that of Professor Rodriguez, he pushed open the door and walked into the room, passing by a somewhat cluttered bed with masculine decorations, to sit in front of Professor Rodriguez who was sitting on a stool at the desk.

As a warrior, Rodriguez was somewhat short and slender in stature, but no one in the school could deny that this warrior teacher's own strength was not good, but his teaching level was much better than many stronger warrior teachers, which proved the saying 'those who are good at practicing may not be good at teaching, those who are good at teaching may not be good at practicing'.

Rodriguez looked up at his most promising student with a bitter smile, and let out a sigh. This kid had the potential to be one of the top three fighters in the world, and yet he was the least enthusiastic about it among all ten students.

In order to make Qianjin at least eligible for the observer quota, I hope to inspire his desire during the observation period of the Four Seas Heroes Conference and prepare him for competing for the regular quota as a second-year warrior. However, unexpectedly, the trial exam had just begun when he was hit by a flying hat and fainted, thus exiting the trial exam in this manner.

Qian Jin saw the smile in Rodriguez's eyes, and his lips curled up with a hint of bitterness as he scratched his head: "Teacher, you called me here, it can't be to mock me, right?"

Rodriguez's eyes flickered to a chair not far away, and with a swift motion, he pulled it over and sat down with his butt, saying "Thank you, teacher."

Rodriguez saw that Qianjin only needed a glance to understand the meaning, and a hint of a smile appeared on his face. Being good at observation was one of this student's greatest strengths. If he were to be knocked out by a hat and withdraw from this observation just because of bad luck, it would be a real pity.

After a few seconds of silence, Rodriguez spoke up and asked, "Last time's trial assessment, I begged the Dean of Studies for half a day but couldn't get you another chance to retake it."

"Retake?" Qian Jin was taken aback for a moment before suddenly understanding Rodriguez's idea.

The image of the Dean's round and plump figure flashed quickly through Qianjin's mind, along with Kaisa's swollen face and nose.

On that day, Kaisa was beaten with a swollen nose and face in the exchange of blows. The head of the teaching office was furious about this, but it wasn't because he cared about the students' bodies, rather it was because Kaisa was his nephew, and also because of Headmaster Kayler's relationship that Kaisa dared to form gangs and bully his fellow students at school.

If it weren't for the Oakland Warriors and Magic Academy, only the principal had the right to expel students and handle them. Qian Jing would have been kicked out of school by Principal Kaili after beating Kaiser that time.
