Chapter 10: The Death of An's Mother
That year I was 8 years old and Angie was 7 years old.
That year we went to elementary school.
"That year" I and Angie had our first friend.
One thing that happened "this year" will be unforgettable for our whole life.
We met two friends in school, one named Cao Yue and the other Chen Kun. They were cousins, with Chen Kun being the older brother and Cao Yue the younger brother. Cao Yue's family lived in the city, but since his parents had been doing business outside for a long time, they left him at his uncle's house, which was also Chen Kun's home, so that he could study together with Chen Kun. Cao Yue was a very mischievous kid who would always look for trouble and no one dared to provoke him. He was often taken to the office by teachers for punishment. Chen Kun was a very special kid who didn't like to talk much, but he was very smart and mature, seeming to understand everything. He didn't like studying, yet every time there was an exam, he would always get one of the top scores.
No one dares to bully me and Angie. Angie is because of her super cute appearance, even the older brothers and sisters in high school and the teachers who know her all like her. In our small classroom, she is the little princess. As for me, it's because when I first started school, Cao Lei found trouble with each of the male classmates. When he found trouble with me, I beat him up badly. Children are most idolizing heroes at that time, although I am not a hero. But I am stronger than him, and since being beaten by me, he became my little follower, so Chen Kun also became my best friend. When we grew up, we were inseparable, this is what brothers are. From then on, Angie's home had two more people who mixed and ate together every day, and our mothers took turns cooking for us.
That Sunday, four of us were playing at home when suddenly Dad rushed into the house in a hurry and dragged Mom out.
"What's wrong with you, running like this? What happened?" Mom said irritably.
"An Yun, An Yun..." Rong Cheng hurriedly said with a big head. Rong Cheng is the father of Rong Yao. "What's wrong with An Yun, why are you speaking like a child, stuttering?" Mother Rong said impatiently. Rong Cheng took a deep breath: "Something happened to An Yun." "An Yun got into trouble? What kind of trouble could she get into?" Mother asked suspiciously.
"An Yun is dead, it seems like she was raped and murdered." "Ah!"... Rong's mother shouted loudly, then ran to the street like a madwoman. While running, she muttered to herself: "How could this be? An Yun was such a good woman, how could she have died? They must have made a mistake, yes, they must have made a mistake."
Because Dad and Mom's voices were very loud, Rongyao could hear them clearly in the house. He exchanged a glance with Chen Kun. Then Rongyao pulled Anqi, and Chen Kun pulled Cao Yue to run out onto the street. When they arrived on the street, they saw that the small restaurant was surrounded by people discussing what had just happened. Inside, several police cars were parked, and it took great effort for a few young people to squeeze inside. Once inside, they saw Rong's mom talking to the police. Rongyao went to his mom's side, and when Rong's mom looked up and saw Rongyao and the others, especially little Anqi, tears began to flow: "How did you all get here? Go back quickly." At this time, Anqi ran to Rong's mom's side, grabbed her hand, and cried out: "Rong Mom, is my mom dead? Rong Mom, please don't let my mom die. Save her for me! I won't be naughty anymore, I won't make her angry again, I'll be very good, very good. I can't lose my mom, please don't let my mom die. I will miss her, I already lost my dad, and now I also can't lose my mom, or else I will be very pitiful."
