Sitting in front of me in the S css dorm hall was Chloe Darksong, one of my cssmates. Outside of Emily and Aric, I barely talked to anyone from my css. I was technically the top of the css based on the scores on the pcement test, but that wasn’t making me many friends.

  “So, I knew I wasn’t the only one, but I didn’t expect it to be you, Nyx” Chloe said to me.

  “Really? I just assumed I hadn’t met anyone yet. I do have a few ideas”

  “Hmm, like who?”

  “One of the princes, I think a few of the elf nobility in our css, and I think the prince and the future duchess from our neighboring country” I tell her. This was something I had thought a lot about. Based on the storylines in the game, they all don’t have ones I can think of.

  “Hmm, so either Oscar or Michael, Cra Eywn or Lyra, and Emeral and Alice. So a few people stand out to you” Chloe says, “Why?”

  “The story only naturally has one prince, the only set elf nobility is the Princess, who is a year ahead of us, and a single sibling in our year. And there is no guarantee you ever meet the nobility from another country” I tell her. “I remember a lot from the wiki still”

  “Hmm, interesting. I made a few posts there but only about some of the side quests and mechanics I cared about.” Chloe started.

  “Oh, really?” I said, pretty excited. I read most of the wiki before I bought the game. I found it randomly when I couldn’t sleep at night. The mechanics seemed cool, like how the combat and levels worked, and all of the customization options.

  “Did you not post on it? I assumed it was just the people who were posting on it who got pulled in. There weren't that many of us. Only like 10”

  “And 11 people were pulled in. I'm pretty sure I am the only person whose here who wasn’t posting on it”

  “Well, you want to do this quest with me, to unlock the spell store from our teacher?”

  “Oh, yeah. I need it for some stuff I am working on” I expined to her.

  “Well, I can always use the help on the quest. Why not, we can go together” Chloe said.

  Jumping up in joy, I grab her hand over the table. “Thank you, Thank you so much” I said.

  But before we could talk about anything else, someone started talking to me from behind me.

  “Who is this, Nyx?” Emily says, suddenly appearing behind me.

  Quickly turning to look at her, I see that she doesn’t seem super happy. I also see that Lilith was standing with her, also not looking happy.

  I remember what Lilith looked like when she was angry, and Emily was the spiting image of what she looked like when you made her mad in game.

  “Oh, Hello Ms. Princess and Ms. Student council President. I am Chloe Darksong” Chole said, introducing herself.

  “Oh, yes. You are one of our cssmates” Emily said. “And your from the prominent merchant family that has streamlined the sale of music pyers and recorders”

  “Oh, you know of my family, and our main product” Chloe said. “Do you have a favorite musician?”

  I was getting lost in this conversation now. The music pyers were an item in the game that allowed you to py music over the regur soundtrack. They had some effect on some quests, but not many. But they weren’t super well known in the game's story.

  Emily never answered the question, and just stared at Chloe with an angry expression.

  I was pretty confused as to why she was so mad.

  Eventually though, Emily spoke up again.

  “Come on Nyx. We need to talk in private” She says, and pulls me away from the table I was siting at.

  “What do you want to talk about?” I ask, starting to walk next to her.

  Chloe was originally born to two common born, but wealthy, people. Her family was just her parents and her. She grew up in a very privileged life, wanting for nothing, do for her family's status.

  But one day, when she was quite young, she came down with a severe fever and fell into a coma. For a little over a week, her parents tried everything to cure her, but not even intervention from a priest at the church could help her.

  But just as suddenly as it came on, it vanished.

  Little did her family know, but that was when Chloe was reincarnated into this world.

  She grew up from there a completely normal girl still, but had a few specific tendencies. The first was that she started giving advice to her father about the business he was running.

  This advice surrounded the product that would become their main product, the music recorder and pyer.

  By making deals with musicians to record their music and release it to the public, they made a lot of money. Before this, you had to go to a pce where the musician was pying to record the song yourself. Now these recordings were widely avaible to the public.

  This was all from the ideas that Chloe gave her father.

  Chloe had actually done this to start a career of her own, hidden from her parents at first.

  In her past life, Chloe loved singing and music, but thanks to her circumstances, she could never make a career out of it. Even after music school and getting a small following online, nothing ever came of it.

  She also loved the idea of idols, both being one and watching them. The US didn’t have a real equivalent but thanks to the internet, she got her fix of that, both wholesome and not.

  But then she found starcross adventure. Deep in a mini game, she found something she loved doing.

  IN the game there was a side quest that involved the pyer essentially becoming an idol. Releasing music, doing concerts, having adoring fans. And all of it required real life music talents. She fell hard into this mini-game, pying it constantly to deal with her unfulfilling real life.

  She even made the wiki pages on this side quest and mini-game.

  So when she found herself in the game, she decided to push this side quest hard.

  So, as a young child she started a secret idol career and secretly sent all of her music to her father, who then unknowingly published it.

  She was in fact one of the most popur artists in the kingdom.

  But she also knew she couldn’t live in this world unless she was able to save it from the plot of the game.

  She had already saved herself from the prologue battle, but that was an event easily avoided. The rest wouldn’t be.

  So, like her character did in the game, she enrolled at the royal magic academy. Since she remembered a good amount from the game and her family paid for the best tutors they could find, she ended up in S css.

  She then joined the research css, since in game she pyed support in combat, letting her party members do the real fighting.

  And a few weeks into school, she went to one of her teachers to start a quest, so she could get the skills she would need for the first story event in a few months.

  And there she officially met Nyx for the first time.

  And the first time she met another pyer.

  She had seen Nyx in css before, and thought she might have been a pyer, but had no confirmation yet. She also knew that if she was a pyer, they maxed out the cuteness stat used for certain things in the game, like retionship development.

  She was kind of upset at first. Nyx was one of her top choices to form a party with, since they were top of the S css. Chloe liked timid girls like her a lot, and Nyx was very cute, so she was hoping to party with her, and maybe try to romance her. But the rumor was that she was dating the princess already, something only possible this quickly if she maxed out her cuteness.

  But even then, she asked to form a party with Chloe. She needed skills from this quest as well.

  So Chloe agreed to form the party.

  The excitement on Nyx’s face when Chloe agreed almost made her blush. So cute, so adorable. She wanted to see what Nyx would look like as an idol on stage. Or maybe a private show.

  But so quickly after she agreed, Nyx’s girlfriend and older sister showed up, not looking very happy.

  And Chloe found out she had a decent bit of competition.
