  Gazing around observing Leo stood, his despair could be seen, they had tried everything against the monstrosity in front of them but nothing seemed to work, they had even used the best formation on it all to no avail, and now his teammates were getting weak, he could tell they couldn't keep this up any longer. The barb wired fence surrounding the back of the resort were now filled with infected and he knew that sooner or later the fence would fall letting the infected in.

  "Damn......,damn"he pouted reloading his pistol while the rest kept firing at the monster

  "It's no good, that thing is unkillable" Kira yelled hr fear had gotten the better of her.

  "Fuck.........." Chloe cursed stareing at the beast which slowly advanced towards them. She finally realized it, not all of them could make it back alive, someone had to be bait, someone had to lure the monster away while the rest escaped and there was no better candidate for that than her who was already bitten one and didn't turn.

  "I'll lure the monster away!" She yelled

  "What?,.......no"Dave retorted taking some steps back before shooting at the monster again.

  "Just this once I agree with the blond, you'd be killed if you did that and besides ain't you trying to hard to outshine us?"Luke said with a smile. She always thought he hated her, why not just let her lure the monster away, why not let her die she wondered.

  She grabbed her gun which has fallen on the grass filled floor.

  Her mind had already been made, her friends had to make it out alive even if it meant sacrificing herself.

  At that moment a memory kicked in, one she might have forgotten. No, one she had forced herself to forget.

  "Watch out!!...............Chloe" a voice familiar to that of Dave yelled but it soon went pitch black and nothing else could be seen.

  *Exhaling, inhaling, footsteps becoming faster*

  It was the day she escaped from the facility, the lab north from her current position, a place where she was treated as a lab rat and used for different experiments. After that she had lost consciousness, when she had woken up she saw Dave he rescued her from the river she had fallen into the previous night.

  "Perhaps this was already ordained and she had been saved by Dave for this very moment.

  She smirked her left hand reaching out for her dagger, she was ready to fight, dagger on one hand, gun on the other.

  "This isn't up for debate" she yelled "Leo organize the group, escape from here, I'll buy you sometime.....once you all are safe I'll come running ok" she said before charging towards the monster.

  It used its sword like nails as a melee weapon avoiding her dagger while using its tongue like a frog to try and capture her. But she was fast, too fast infact.

  Sh has avoided every single tongue throw and struck the infected with her dagger hard. It screeched out of pain.

  Leo had finally gained gained some of his confidence although he was still terrified.

  "C'mon let's go, everyone to the bus.... We have to get as far away from her as possible"Leo ordered. He had finally realized it..., Chloe was the best candidate to buy them some time, her ability gave her a chance against such being, he just pray she wouldn't die after this encounter.

  "Are you serious?"Dave yelled angrily "you're going to leave her here all by herself...., she get killed?"

  "Right now we have no other choice....... she's the only one who stands a chance keeping that thing in check, we'll only slow her down" Leo explained

  There was a moment of silence after that, only the sounds of dagger clashing rock could be heard and then Luke spoke.

  "We have to go blondy.........., we'll come back for her, c'mon"

  "Damn....damn"Dave felt troubled but he had finally understood he situation he was in and they were right, they had to escape then wait for her to show up.

  "Ok...let's go"he said following Leo's lead out through the back exit of the resort "just don't die...., please Chloe" he thought

  The monster noticing the other humans were escaping slammed Chloe into the barb wired fence, using this opportunity it stretched its tongue towards them unfortunately Kira was the one it caught.

  "Help!"she yelled trying to free herself but before she could struggle some more or get help from her friends, her head had been chewed off and her body was dropped on the floor

  "Fuck" Luke cried running off to meet the others, he had been the only one besides Chloe to see Kira get killed but he couldn't do anything to stop it "I'm sorry"he muttered

  Chloe who had already gotten back on her feet started shooting and soon she ran out of bullets. All she had now was her dagger. Her death was near she thought. She attacked the monster again this time avoiding its strike and then doing an acrobatic flip to get above it, then sliced one of its eye to create a blind spot.

  The monster took some steps back screeching harder than before.

  Something has caught Chloe's interest, when she did the flip she had noticed a grenade on kira body tied on the back of her belt, Kira may not have noticed it because she couldn't see it from behind her but this was going to be a game changer for Chloe who had already picked it up and was waiting for the monster to charge towards her after its scream of agony. The monster eventually act as she had predicted....monsters are monsters no matter their size, they all thought alike. Chloe waited for it to get closer to her as soon as it had it's muth wide open she threw the grenade into its mouth, the grenade pin on her finger.

  "Just die" she sighed running to get to a safe distance before the explosion but that was impossible as the monster chased after her not creating any chance for her to avoid the blast

  BOOM!!!

  From the other side of the resort the blast could be seen by Chloe's teammates

  "What the hell was that?"Luke asked

  "No Chloe!!!"Dave yelled almost running back towards the place he had just escaped from but the infected in front of him stopped him from doing so.

  The blast has been strong enough to destroy the backside of the resort, bodies of all the infected caught in it laid on the floor including the beast she had just fought. It laid headless on the floor close to Chloe who had blood rushing out of her ears and nose. The grenade wasn't supposed to be that powerful..., how did this happen she thought feeling her consciousness slowly fading away.
