The Misfit (1)

What the heck happened here?” Tuz said as we got out of the dimensional crack that had just opened up. Dimensional jump worked like an opening that connected two planes together through a pipe like shifting dimensional portal. The place we landed in was the other side of the portal that we just opened up.

The scene was typical of the dimensional void l was accustomed to living. A hillside with a river flowing in and out of dimensional cracks filled with all the pieces of equipment l had made throughout the years. They were lying around without much order in protective shields that were being powered with arch reactors that used the dimensional shifts attributed to power themselves like there were tectonic power generators that were able to power entire cities depending all on the motion of the lava beneath the earth crust. Most people did not care much about the working of the machines and lived their lives hunting Depraves and living in their homes without much difficulty like the many people before them. These people were not much different. Like their ancestors, they only cared about the food that was given to them, not considering what they did in their idle times. The deities which they worshiped were not of any use to them. They called them by different names. There were clashes and fights depending upon their deities. I also belonged to one of the deities group but did not mangled in their works and was most of the time just a passerby that looked at things and did not do anything that was meant to harm them.

They were like those people that just looked at things like animals and thought that everything was all right despite having almost zero contribution towards society. Not that it mattered as in the collapsed world there was this rule everyone was for himself or for their family as most people called such things. Maybe I was like in the second group but it was mostly guesses as there was no possible way to group the huge number of factions or sub factions that were formed as a result of the collapsed world periodic fueling as l called them. The whole process by which huge groups of people or armies of men and women were transported to the collapsed world. They called this place the heavens or what not. Only people of the present era before the collapsed world were able to distinguish such things but as time passed we forgot and our time dwindled by the great numbers of research and development.

Ellaya had done what I had expected of her. She had flapped the huge dimensional void of the trespasser as I had taught her to do. The only thing left for me to do was to clean up after her mess. The trespasser as to speak of was Miss Tuz Butler that it had always been around with. It was bleeding heavily with disheveled hair and in need of first aid despite being a Deprave. The Deprave was a snake type one so there was not much to worry as it had a body that could slither around and had only one head which made it easy to hop around and have a clear target. Ellaya had done the same thing that she did so many times before in case of dummy practices and original Deprave attacks. She had armed herself with the anti-Deprave equipment that I had made for her for such an occasion. I was a family person but unlike other family people, l made sure that Ellaya was able to keep up her own defenses and protect herself in case of dangerous and threatening situations and conditions. I was proud I had raised her fully trained.

“ You are the boss. Stop it now.” Tuz said while referencing to me as it knew all well that the anti-Deprave security could only be stopped by me.

“ Why not watch a little while?” l questioned as the fighting was getting to a better part.

Ellaya was taught to fight against different types of Depraves. Most of them l brought with me as l had fought against many Depraves against all types. Most people specialized in hunting specific types of Depraves depending upon their choices and different soul gadgets that they had with them. As l made soul equipment, l made sure to make Ellaya practice to be able to kill Depraves as part of her classes. She could even take on oceanic Depraves like kraken types, much less snake type ones.

She was black haired and the sweat that was accustomed on her forehead showed me that the fight was not an easy one for her as the Deprave was a high level one and was probably on orders not to hurt her but nevertheless it was a good lesson for both. I was actually going to enjoy their fight between themselves.

“ You sick bastard. You are enjoying this battle. Tell her to stop.” Tuz was infuriated by my reckless attitude.

“ Oh! Come on.” She is doing fine. I replied knowing as everything was going all right.

“ You asshole. You can stop it so you should.” Tuz said fumingly.

“ For what? Your servant is getting his ass kicked while Ellaya is getting a very good lesson. I will sell this blade to you for the important lesson. How is she going to learn to battle against high level Deprave if she ever get to fight against one?” l countered with absolute logical reasoning.

“ OK. That is a good trade off,” said Tuz, realizing that it was a good thing and that it was going to be on the better end of the trade.

I gave the blade that was made to kill off the rabbit to it and looked outside the window of the dimensional ship that we traveled on. Ellaya was using her jump heels to jump around while using a rocket type soul gadget that was not her original soul gadget. Actually for some reason she never had one. Mine was the shape of a katana that I kept to myself for most of the time and used alternative soul gadgets to kill Depraves. This rocket gadget was one of prototypes that I had been working on. It was a good test ride too. There were only a number of times that I had to fight against high level Depraves.
